Transfer Credit Evaluations Overview

The Registrarโ€™s Office evaluates transfer credit upon receipt of official transcripts from another institution. Following review by evaluators, an email notification is sent to the student. To access the evaluation, go to your Student Center in myCI and choose Transfer Credit Report from the drop-down menu.

Official transcripts from all colleges or universities attended prior to your CSUCI graduation date must be submitted and considered in the awarding of your degree. All baccalaureate-level transferable units will be calculated into your overall grade point average.

Transfer Credit for Incoming Students

For new freshmen students, if you completed coursework at a community college or 4-year university while in high school please submit official transcripts from that institution. High school or unofficial transcripts will not be accepted.

For new transfer students, the courses from the transcript are initially posted based on established articulation agreements. At this time, the transfer credit evaluation is considered โ€œunofficial.โ€ Following review by evaluators, an email notification is sent to the student and a message is posted in the studentโ€™s CI Academic Requirements Report (CARR) indicating that the transfer credit evaluation is โ€œofficial.โ€

New transfer students will have their transfer credit officially evaluated before the start of their first term at Channel Islands, provided that they have submitted all final, official transcripts by published Admission deadlines. However, evaluators will focus on posting transfer courses that meet pre-requisites before new student orientation dates in July.
