Merit Scholarships
Belmont University offers a variety of merit-based scholarships. The application for admission to the university serves as the merit-based scholarship application. General Academic Merit Scholarships are awarded on a rolling basis following the offer of admission as funds remain available. December 1 is the priority application deadline for consideration for Belmont’s most competitive named and departmental scholarships. All components of the application for admission must be received by this date for the applicant to be deemed eligible for consideration.
Endowed Scholarships
Many kind people and organizations have created and maintained endowed scholarships in a dedicated effort to support students attending Belmont University. After submitting an admissions application and their FAFSA, students are automatically considered for any scholarships for which they are eligible. Each scholarship given by the university that is open to approved entering freshmen and enrolled returning students will be taken into consideration. Different scholarships have different grant amounts and requirements. Despite an annual increase in scholarships, money is constrained. Except where specified, there is no requirement to apply for a specific scholarship or to be familiar with the prerequisites.
Non-Institutional Scholarships
There are many outside scholarships available to Belmont students. Click on the “General Scholarship” button below to see lists of, and links to, these scholarships.
Many outside scholarship opportunities are not specifically listed on this site. Students may receive scholarships from national organizations as well as community based organizations in their home area. These groups may include labor unions, professional associations, churches, local businesses, high school scholastic clubs, and various civic organizations such as Elks, Lions Club, Rotary and YMCA just to name a few. Many students receive tuition assistance from their parents’ or their own employers. High school guidance counselors can be a good source for locating scholarship opportunities in your community.
