Artificial intelligence is well established at the University of Toronto. If you’re serious about getting involved in artificial intelligence, it’s important to research which universities and companies offer the best programs and opportunities. The Centre for Analytics and AI Engineering (CARTE) was founded in 2019.  It was aimed to facilitate the translation and application of artificial intelligence research-oriented technologies to a variety of industry sectors. CARTE has three core pillars: research; education and training; and partnerships. CARTE will be active in cultivating demand from industry, enabling collaboration and accelerating the education of artificial intelligence-savvy engineers.

With our artificial intelligence and machine learning expertise, we’re drawing critical insights and information from big data by marrying emerging techniques in general, data mining, artificial intelligence (AI) to design smarter systems. We’re working to create algorithms that can understand how specific mutations result in diseases such as autism, cancer and cystic fibrosis, and suggest treatments. We’re building computer models that can optimize surgery schedules and other medical interventions. We’re also working on ways to help computers better recognize speech and images, including individual human faces.

Artificial intelligence, data analytics, and machine learning will reshape processes to improve lives and generate value for people around the world.
