The programme is based in UCL School of Managementโ€™s new home in Canary Wharf, the heart of Londonโ€™s dynamic financial centre. It aims to provide individuals with the knowledge, understanding and skills to enable them to engage with specialist roles in the modern global financial industry. Such roles are likely to be located in a range of organisations, including banks, asset management companies, investment and hedge funds, insurance companies, rating agencies, broker/dealers, and large, medium, and boutique financial companies.

Students applying for admission at the University College London are assessed based on their individual merits, however, there are certain minimum admission requirements that must be met.

Of all the admission requirements, UCL primarily focuses upon the statement of purpose while assessing the true potential of a student. Therefore, while preparing a good statement of purpose for UK, students should ensure that they prove:

  • what makes them fit for the course
  • why they are pursuing a particular course

According to the latest report of UCAS, UCL received 42,540 applications and recorded an acceptance rate of 63%. Although UCL is moderately selective, getting admission into one of the programs at UCL is challenging. The competitiveness varies by courses depending upon the popularity and number and quality of applications.

The most common factor that determines whether you will get accepted into UCL is your academic performance. Your academic records and grades from school are some of the most important factors in determining whether you will be accepted or not. A high GPA (grade point average) indicates that you have performed well academically. You can also impress admissions officers through extra-curricular activities such as sports or clubs that show that you are committed to being active in your community and making a positive impact there as well as academically.

It is also important to note that even though the admission requirements vary between different schools within UCL, all applicants must meet certain minimum requirements such as having English proficiency at level B2+ on CEFR scale (Common European Framework of Reference).
