University Of South Carolina Medical School Acceptance Rate

The Medical University of South Carolina was founded in 1824 and is comprised of six colleges and a 700-bed medical center. MUSC is one of the oldest schools of medicine in the nation. The school is home to the South Carolina Clinical and Translational Research Institute which is a leader in biomedical and clinical research initiatives. Through the Interprofessional Initiatives students and professionals are able to collaborate and enhance patient research.The School of Medicine at University of South Carolina has an application deadline of Nov. 30. The application fee at University of South Carolina is $95. Its tuition is full-time: $42,888 (in-state) and full-time: $87,150 (out-of-state). The faculty-student ratio at University of South Carolina is 0.6:1. The School of Medicine has 230 full-time faculty on staff.

ACCEPTANCE RATE

1. Pass/Fail & Online Coursework and Labs:  For students who do not receive standard letter grades or do not elect to receive standard letter grades during the Spring 2020, Summer 2020 and/or Fall 2020 semesters due to school closures and conversion to  online learning, we will accept pass/fail courses and online labs.  Although the School of Medicine Columbia does not have prerequisites, there are strongly recommended courses.
2. Letters of Evaluation:  During the committee review, the School of Medicine Columbia will remain cognizant of the fact that clinical and observational experience may be more difficult to obtain along with letters accompanying these experiences. 
3. MCAT:  The School of Medicine Columbia will continue to require a MCAT score to be taken no later than September 2020 to be considered for this application cycle.
