The University of Virginiaโs School of Engineering and Applied Science focuses research efforts in four broad areas: bioengineering, nanotechnology, information science and technology, and energy and environment. Graduate students at the school can partner with faculty exploring research areas ranging from tissue engineering to data mining at one of the 40 centers, institutes, and laboratories housed at the schoolโs Charlottesville campus.
These research centers include the Center for Applied Biomechanics, which studies the impact and injury caused by high speed automobile crashes, and the Center for Safe and Secure Nuclear Energy.
