Founded in 1855, Michigan State University is a public research university located in East Lansing, Michigan, US. Earlier it was known as Agriculture College of the State of Michigan, which was later named Michigan State University in 1964. A scientific schedule was developed which turned out to be the most scientific curriculum in any undergraduate college. Michigan University got a status of national entity when Abraham Lincoln signed the Morrill Act of 1862. It is a part of Big Ten Academic Alliance that provides international collaborations and many more courses like medicine, agriculture and technology. Michigan State was the first land-grant institution in the US, which became a model for institutions developed on similar lines. It also includes one of the US’ only environmental journalism organziations, a student-run organic farm and a solar car racing team. Its graduate programs include highly ranked Eli Board College of Business and College of Education.

Special econometric classrooms are built for International students. Around 51 institutes have been developed within the premises offering a wide range of subjects like Dentistry, Pharmacy, Nursing, Engineering, Law, Literature, Science, Art, Environmental Studies, Theatre, and Dance, as well as music. The university also has a campus in Dubai. MSU leads the way in offering studies on communication sciences, supply chain management, hospitality business, and packaging. Also, Michigan State is a member of the Association of American Universities and is classified with prestigious R1: Doctoral Universities โ€“ that produces Very high research activity.

Nearly 65% of freshmen receive aid, and all students, including out-of-state, and international applicants are eligible for scholarships. There are more than 900 student clubs which offers a wide array of opportunities to pursue their interest other than academics. A diverse and inclusive academic community, more than 5.0,000 students are enrolled from all 50 states and more than 130 countries. It is one of the largest institutions in the country in terms of enrolment. The university offers more than 200 programs of study in 17 degree-granting colleges. Its 5,200-acre campus offers a modern events center, a center for performing arts, museums, the universityโ€™s large sports programme that includes 25 varsity teams. The Michigan State sports squad compete in the NCAA Division I Big Ten Conference.

The university has a notable list of alumni that includes Stanley Cohen (Nobel Prize in Physiology), Robert Shiller (Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences), WYC Grousebeck (CEO and Governor of NBA), Tom Harmon (Heisman Trophy winner), Claudia Alexander (NASA Geophysicist), and Edgar Ted Codd (Turing Award winner).

The Eli Broad Graduate School of Management at Michigan State University (Broad) offers these departments and concentrations: accounting, consulting, entrepreneurship, finance, general management, hotel administration, human resources management, international business, leadership, marketing, management information systems, production/operations management, organizational behavior, supply chain management/logistics, and quantitative analysis/statistics and operations research. Its tuition is full-time: $33,098 per year (in-state); full-time: $52,458 per year (out-of-state); executive: $80,000 total program (in-state); and executive: $80,000 total program (out-of-state). At graduation, 72.30 percent of graduates of the full-time program are employed.

The Eli Broad Graduate School of Management at Michigan State University is not far from the automotive hub of Detroit, so it is not surprising that several Broad alumni have advanced to executive roles at Ford, General Motors and Fiat Chrysler.

But the Broad Graduate School of Management prepares students for a range of industries, with full-time MBA concentrations in marketing, finance, human resource management and supply chain management. MBA students can also enroll in dual-degree programs that allow them to earn a law degree from the Michigan State University College of Law or a medical degree from MSUโ€™s College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Professionals with work experience can complete an executive MBA by taking classes mainly on weekends. Broad also offers graduate degrees in accounting, market research, supply chain management and other subjects.

Broadโ€™s students can gain exposure to global enterprise through a study abroad program, or hone their real-world business skills in one of the schoolโ€™s experiential learning laboratories. The schoolโ€™s laboratories include the Team Effectiveness Laboratory, the Financial Analysis Laboratory and the IBM On-Demand Supply Chain Laboratory, where students experiment with the key relationships in a supply chain. MBA students who are interested in investment management can use Broadโ€™s program to prepare for the Chartered Financial Analyst exams, as the school is a partner of the CFA Institute.

Outside of classrooms and labs, students at the Eli Broad Graduate School of Management can join organizations such as the Broad Consulting Club and the Multicultural MBA Association, or ride the miles of bike paths traversing the 5,200-acre campus in East Lansing. Broadโ€™s notable alumni include Craige L. Stout, CEO and managing director of Stout Risius Ross, a financial advisory firm; Bob Chapek, chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts; and the late Robert Stempel, a former CEO at General Motors who helped develop the catalytic converter.

Eli Board College of Business, part of Michigan State University is ranked number #1 in Supply Chain Management undergraduate and graduate programs and masters in Market Research by QS WUR 2021. The institute also leads nationally for a percentage increase in pre-MBA salary. The college has various innovative and well-equipped experiential laboratories, to provide students hands-on learning experience. It offers undergraduate courses as well as specialised masters, doctoral-level degree programs, executive MBA and full-time MBA for international students in US.

With an overall acceptance rate of 43%-62%, the b-school is quite selective in its admissions. A sound GRE or GMAT score along with a four-year UG degree or a three-year UG degree along with a masterโ€™s degree is essential for MBA admissions. English language skills of aspirants are also checked by the admission committee for which students need to gain an IELTS score of 7.0 and TOEFL iBT of 100. The tuition and required fees for a full-time MBA is about 52,652 USD and the overall cost of a full-time MBA including living expenses for international students is 73,048 USD.

The Eli Broad College of Business is the business college at Michigan State University. The college has programs in accountingfinancegeneral managementhuman resource managementmarketingsupply chain management, and hospitality business, which is an independent, industry-specific school within the Broad College (The School of Hospitality Business). This independent, industry-specific school has 800 admitted undergraduate students and 36 graduate students not included in the college’s totals.[3]

Eli Broad, an alumnus of Michigan State, endowed the college in 1991,[5] donating $20 million.[6]

The college has been accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) since 1953.[7]

The University of Texas-Dallas‘s Top 100 Business School Research Rankings lists the Broad College as #30 in North America and #33 worldwide in research contributions to the 24 leading business journals it tracks.

The College of Education was ranked high for multiple programs as well. These programs include elementary and secondary education, curriculum and instruction, educational administration and rehabilitation counseling. 

“The program that I think U.S. News is most based on is the doctoral program in curriculum instruction and teacher education and that includes people who are going to do doctoral work relating to elementary education and secondary education across subject areas so science, math, literacy, English education, social studies education, and they also do work more generally in curriculum and instruction,” MSU College of Education Dean Robert Floden said.

Students are proud and honored to be apart of such a successful graduate program. Additionally, many undergraduate students look forward to enrolling in the graduate program and continuing on into the professional world as Michigan State College of Education alumni. 

Within the College of Education, the Special Education graduate program is ranked at No. 12. Many undergraduate students attend Michigan State for their undergraduate degree on the track to earn this specific graduate degree.

“A lot of people are very aware that the special education program here is great, … and personally and from an outside perspective it is very rewarding,” special education sophomore Hannah Waldron said. “It gives me a lot of pride and sense of ease knowing that I am in a program that is educating me properly and going to be setting me on the right track, and that was one of the main reasons I chose Michigan State.”
