Office of the Controller

Welcome to the University Controller’s website.  The University Controller provides oversight to the Finance and Accounting Division, which provides a wide range of fiscal, accounting, and financial operations that support and assist in the creation of a strong fiscal environment for the University.  We are constantly working to provide additional assistance to the campus community, and welcome your suggestions for initiatives, resources, or trainings that would be helpful.  Please e-mail your thoughts to controller-office@ad.ufl.edu.

General Accounting and Financial Reporting is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the University’s accounting records–including the maintenance of ChartFields and Combination Codes, the review of general ledger (GL) activities and the timely closing of accounting periods. In addition, the office processes GL journal entries for cash transfers, inter-departmental transactions and expense corrections and reviews the accuracy of monthly financial reports. The office also prepares the University’s Annual Financial Report, quarterly reports for the Board of Trustees and other external reports.

Asset Management

Asset Management provides support services to the University community to facilitate the management and disposal of tangible personal property UF possesses.  Its mission is to establish uniform directives and procedures for accountability, control and disposal of state-owned and government-owned equipment entrusted to the care of University employees, and to provide quality support services to its customers in a responsible and accountable manner.  Asset Management works closely with Departmental Property Contacts and Property Custodians to facilitate the management of property.

This listserv includes all Property Custodians, Property Contacts, and UF staff members who are interested in property issues.  Asset Management uses this listserv to communicate with the campus community on property issues (List Archive is available).

Auxiliary Accounting

The Auxiliary Accounting office is responsible for helping the campus community with creation, monitoring and compliance with Office of Management and Budget Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, Audit Requirements for Federal Awards (hereinafter referred to as the OMB Uniform Guidance), Federal and State laws and University policies and directives.

Auxiliaries and Fee-for-Service Educational Activities (FSEAs) are units across campus that generate revenues from the provision of goods and/or services. Such activity enhances, promotes or supports the University’s mission of excellence in education and research.

This listserv includes all staff members who are interested in Auxiliaries and/or Fee-for-Service Educational Activities (FSEA) issues or have direct oversight or involvement with FSEA’s. Auxiliary Accounting uses this listserv to communicate with the campus community on FSEA news/information.
