Life University is a private institution located on a 110 acre wooded campus in the city of Marietta, northwestern Georgia. Founded in 1974, Life is oriented around courses taught in the health and wellness fields.

There are twelve undergraduate and four graduate degrees available. The Life U Sport Science Institute is a combination of leading edge technology and the university’s dedication to vitalistic philosophy in the health fields. Bachelor’s in exercise science, health coaching, and coaching psychology will all make us of the university’s extensive facilities.

A cornerstone of Life University is the chiropractic college, which is the largest in the world. This complementary medicine course entails detailing issues with the nervous system, in particular targeting what is known as subluxation. 

Sports teams are known as the Running Eagles, which compete in the Mid-South Conference. Rugby is a popular and highly successful sport at Life, competing with both men’s and women’s teams. 

While the university itself is located in a midsize city within an area of stunning natural beauty, it is also just 20 miles from Atlanta, a major urban metropolis of the American south that has both an pronounced cultural and historical perspective and extensive international travel links.

The following are minimum freshman applicant academic standards for full admission to LIFE’s Undergraduate degree-seeking programs: An earned 2.0 or higher cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale), as indicated on an official high school transcript, or a passing GED score if a HS diploma is not earned.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY TEST OPTIONS

Option 1

Life University now accepts Duolingo English Proficiency Test results as a part of the international admissions process. A minimum score of 85-90 on the Duolingo is required. The Duolingo English Test is a fast, convenient and affordable test that is available online and on demand. The Duolingo English Test can be taken online from a computer with a camera. You should be in a quiet, well-lit room with your device for about 1 hour. Certified results are available within 2 days and can be shared instantly with LIFE University. You can get started by visiting go.duolingo.com/applicants.

  3. Click: Purchase the test
  4. Click: Take the test and save the results and exit

Option 2

Life University also accepts TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language). A score of a 500 or higher, 173 or higher on the computer-based TOEFL, or 61 or higher on the Internet-based test is acceptable.

  • Please send the test scores via the https://www.ets.org/toefl  by accessing your account and selecting Life University/ The Life University TOEFL code is 5358.

Option 3

Life University also accepts IELTS (International English Language Testing System). A minimum score of 5.5 on the IELTS is required.

Form I-20 Certificate of Eligibility for F-1 VISA

Please note that the information in this section is applicable to only F-1 visa students. Other categories of international students, please see further below.

 All international applicants who need a F-1 student visa need to apply for the Form I-20 Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant (F-1) Student Status. 

Required Documents

  • You must be accepted at Life University
  • I-20 Request Form. Download, complete and submit attached the I-20 Request Form at Admiss@LIFE.edu.
  • A PDF copy of your most recent PASSPORT, submit to Admiss@LIFE.edu
  • A PDF copy of any type of the U.S. VISA (if you have one), submit at Admiss@LIFE.edu

A PDF copy of the following documents must be emailed directly to the attention of Sairagul Matikeeva-Kinney at Sairagul.Matikeeva-K@LIFE.edu and copy at International@LIFE.edu.

  • A Bank letter showing US $30,000 (undergraduate programs), $31,000 (graduate programs), and $50,000 (Doctor of Chiropractic Program). U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) requires international students show the University evidence of adequate financial resources to provide for at least one year of full-time education, travel, and living expenses as estimated below. A financial statement, a standard bank letter on letterhead with your or your sponsor’s name (names) must state that you (your sponsors) have established sufficient funds in USD to support your education in the United States and must be submitted to Life University to receive an I‐20.
    • If you are bringing your immediate family (spouse and children), please add $6,200 for spouse, $9,800 for spouse and child, $13,400 for spouse and two children, $3,600 for no spouse and one child, $7,200 for no spouse and two children.
    • If you are a recipient of any scholarship that covers your first year expenses fully or partially then please send a copy of the award letter stating the source of the scholarship and award amount.
  • A Sponsor Letter. A sponsor affidavit is also required unless the funds are in the student’s name. Please see here for the LU Sponsor Form. Acceptable affidavits include a personal letter, a financial guarantee from an institution, a US I‐134 form (if your sponsor is the U.S. citizen https://www.uscis.gov/i-134). Please follow the instructions on the form.
  • Transfer Eligibilty. F-1 students who are transferring from another U.S. college and graduating from a U.S. high school must fill out and send the Transfer Eligibility form.

The following are the fees payable before you start your quarter at Life University.

  • The SEVIS fee of $350 unless you have an active I-20 from the U.S. college or high school at the time of acceptance at Life University. The I-901 SEVIS Fee is mandated by Congress to support the program office and the automated system that keeps track of students and exchange visitors and ensures that they maintain their status while in the United States. each student or exchange visitor issued an initial Form I-20 or DS-2019 on or after September 1, 2004, is responsible for paying this fee to SEVP. You must pay this fee before your interview in the U.S. Embassy.   • Enrollment fee. To secure a place in the entering class and save your seat at Life University, all newly admitted students are required to submit their $125 (non-refundable and non-waivable) Enrollment Fee. Please see your acceptance letter from LIFE U for the additional information on how to pay the Enrollment feePlease email us for the details.

Mandatory Health Insurance Policy

All F-1 visa students must have a health insurance policy that meets the following minimum requirements: Deductible: $500 or less; Medical Benefits: Minimum $50,000-$100,000; Medical Evacuation: $25,000-$50,000. The proof of coverage is due during the mandatory SEVIS check-in followed by the international student orientation at the beginning of each quarter. Please email your health insurance policy from your home country if the policy is accepted in the U.S.  Please see below the links for a few insurance companies that offer coverage for F-1 students and make sure to select a plan that satisfies the following requirements.

  • Both accident and sickness coverage

  • A deductible of $500 or less and/or co-pay per individual, per year

NONIMMIGRANT VISA HOLDERS
Nonimmigrant visa holders are the citizens of other countries who enter the U.S. on a temporary basis – whether for tourism, business, temporary work, or study. Once a person has entered the U.S. in nonimmigrant status, they are restricted to the activity or reason for which they were allowed entry.

Non-immigrant visa holders include principals and dependents of P-1, L-1, H-1, E-1, J-1, G-1, G-5, O, U,T, V, R, S and others who can study in the United States. Please see the attached for the complete list of nonimmigrant visa holders here.

Life University welcomes the following categories of international applicants and does not make lawful status in the U.S. a condition for admission. We are committed to making every effort to ensure that undocumented students have similar academic, cultural and social  experiences as all of other students.

There are currently no state or federal laws prohibiting Life University  from admitting and enrolling undocumented students, and  LU  have no legal obligation to notify immigration officials of the presence of undocumented students on campus. According to  FERPA and Life University policy, we will not share information on the immigration status of undocumented students to any third party unless legally required by subpoena, warrant, or court order, or if approved by a student. Undocumented students are eligible for a 20% tuition discount just like all other international students and can definitely apply for private aid and scholarships.

DOCTOR OF CHIROPRACTIC ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Life University’s College of Chiropractic (COC) is committed to following the accepted standards of professional ethics, especially with respect to student recruitment and public information. The College of Chiropractic’s Doctor of Chiropractic Program (DCP) supports and is in compliance with the Standards of the Council on Chiropractic Education (CCE) in regards to admission requirements.

The Doctor of Chiropractic Program has specific prerequisites as follows: Prior to beginning your chiropractic education, you must have completed a minimum total of 90 semester credit hours or 135 quarter credit hours of non-duplicate coursework with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above.

A minimum of 48 semester credit hours or 72 quarter credit hours must be credits in the coursework listed below.

In each of the distribution areas above, if more than one course is taken to fulfill the requirement, the course contents must be unduplicated. In situations in which one or more courses have been repeated with equivalent courses, the most recent grade(s) may be used for grade point average computation and the earlier grade(s) may be disregarded.

Credits Earned via Examination: Applicants may earn a portion of the required/pre-requisite credits through examination or means other than formal coursework, but only if these credits are identified by an institution accredited by a nationally or regionally recognized agency and if the institution has formally accepted or awarded such credits. Admission to the Doctor of Chiropractic educational program may be contingent upon receipt of such evidence of earned credits by the Admissions Department.

ALTERNATIVE ADMISSIONS TRACK

Students who have not met the standard requirements for admissions may be considered for the Alternative Admissions Track if they:
1. have a GPA of 2.75 – 2.99 for the required 90 semester credit hours/135 quarter credit hours OR
2. have completed a bachelor’s degree and have a GPA of 2.75 – 4.0 for the required 90 semester credit hours/135 quarter credit hours but do not possess the minimum CCE criteria for regular admissions.

All science courses used towards admissions must be completed with a grade of C or higher and at least half should have a substantive laboratory component. All students eligible for admission under the AAT will be considered on an individual basis based upon their educational transcript evaluation. Final decision for admission rests with the Dean of the College of Chiropractic.

What is the Enrollment Fee and How Do I Pay It?

To secure a place in the entering class, and save your seat at Life University, all newly-admitted students are required to submit their $125.00 (non-refundable and non-waivable) Enrollment Fee. The Enrollment Fee allows you to begin your next steps toward enrollment, which includes Academic Advisement.

You must be accepted before submitting your Enrollment Fee.

How to Submit Enrollment Fee:

Step 1: Go to https://EagleNet.life.edu and log-in using your Life University Credentials (Username: FirstName.LastName)

Step 2: Select the Housing and Residence Life Tab

Step 3: Select Enrollment Fee from the Navigation Bar

Step 4: Select the appropriate Entry Term, from the Term Selector Page. This will take you to the Enrollment Fee page, where you are able to submit your $125 payment.

Life University Tuition

Life University is a private institution and has the same tuition for all students per academic level, whether they have in-state or out-of-state residency. Tuition payment is due in full upon registration. Any charges such as tuition, housing, meal plans and/or student fees/fines are due by the second Sunday of each quarter. The due date can be seen in EagleNet under Student Accounts by term or in the Quarterly Announcements.

Tuition per standard program length for the Doctor of Chiropractic program is  based on the number of credit hours needed to complete the degree (342 credit hours). Lengths of completion for all LU programs can vary, depending on a student’s course load per quarter/year.

Meal Plans swipes are loaded at the start of each quarter, then “reset” at the end, following a “use ‘em or lose ‘em” scenario. Non-mandatory meal plans can be purchased through Eagle Card Services with a credit or debit card.eBucks is a declining balance money account, funds are loaded by Card Services, in conjunction with your selected meal plan. eBucks start at the beginning of the quarter and any unused amounts roll from quarter to quarter until the end of the Spring quarter (June). You can use your eBucks for payment at Socrates Cafe, Plato II Go, Eagles Landing, Lyceum Dining Hall and the LIFE U Shop.The Eagle Card is more than just an ID card – it provides access to a variety of essential functions, such as secure entry to residence halls and rooms, library and Wellness Center. It is also used as payment for meal plans, eBucks, flexBucks and printing services (ePrint).ePrint funds are loaded quarterly for printing/copying at designated campus printers. Current students receive a University printing credit of $7.50 each quarter, and the funds are non-refundable, non-transferable, and can only be used for printing on campus.flexBucks are Eagle Card funds you load yourself using a credit or debit card. Life University is a Yellow Ribbon Participant!  VA and LU will match their contributions for a total amount of:

  • DC: $10,000
  • Graduate: $8,000
  • Undergraduate: $6,000

Yellow Ribbon can be used once you reach the maximum yearly cap for tuition and fees for qualifying post-9/11 recipients.

Pay your tuition, housing, meal plans and fees using credit, debit, electronic checks and international wires. Or, sign up for the LU Payment Plan!

Life University offers a convenient online payment plan to pay your tuition, housing, meal plans, and fees over time, making college more affordable. Payments are spread over three months of the quarter. Sign up is convenient, secure and affordable. A non-refundable setup fee per quarter is $25 due upon enrollment. Student account balance must be at least $500 to be eligible per plan. The last day to enroll is the Friday of the first week of each quarter. Sign up online through EagleNet.
