Dean’s Scholarship (IU Academic)
The Dean’s Scholarship is a four-year IU Academic Scholarship awarded to incoming first-year out-of-state students based on high academic performance. Recipients will be notified by the Office of Scholarships via email and then followed by a letter in the mail. Notifications will happen between mid-December and the first week of February.

IU Global Engagement Scholarship
The IU Global Engagement Scholarships are four-year scholarships awarded to incoming first-year international students of the highest academic quality. No additional scholarship application is needed. Only test scores received directly from the testing agency will be considered for scholarship and admission processes.

21st Century Scholarship Covenant
The 21st Century Scholarship Covenant provides additional financial support to 21st Century Scholars at IU Bloomington who qualify.
Award amount:
The Covenant supplements the 21st Century Scholars state grant to assist with budgeted costs for tuition and fees, room and board, and books. The receipt of other gift aid and the student’s Estimated Family Contribution (EFC) are also considered in determining the amount of the Covenant award.

Adam W. Herbert Presidential Scholars Program
The Adam W. Herbert Presidential Scholars Program recognizes a select number of Indiana resident students annually in the incoming freshman class.
Award amount:
The award includes a scholarship, a technology stipend, and a study abroad stipend.

Annexstad Family Foundation
Award amount:
A total award of $25,000 will be distributed over a maximum of five years. $5,000 will be awarded annually in each of the first three years with the $10,000 balance being awarded in either the fourth year of study or split evenly between the fourth and fifth years of study. Leveraging government aid and institutional awards, the annual scholarship award will effectively close the “gap” on the total cost of attendance (COA).
Eligibility requirements:
The Leaders for Tomorrow scholarship is a merit and financial aid-based award. Indiana first year students who have demonstrated great determination and have overcome adversity are selected by IU. Students interested in receiving this scholarship are encouraged to complete their FASFA by April 15.

Cox Research Scholarship
The Cox Research Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship program for Indiana residents of exemplary achievement and scholarly curiosity. If selected as a Cox Research Scholar, you’ll have the unique opportunity to participate in meaningful research or creative activity under the mentorship of a faculty member at IU Bloomington by completing an eight to ten hour per week work requirement.

A scholarship and wage package that—in conjunction with any other institutional funding a student receives—will equal the official cost of attendance at Indiana University Bloomington.
Eligibility requirements:
To be eligible for a Cox Research Scholarship, you must:
- Enter IU classified as an Indiana resident.
- Be pursuing your first baccalaureate degree.
- Submit a complete application to IU Bloomington by November 1, 2021 to be automatically considered for this opportunity based on the factors in your application, including grades earned in academic coursework; performance in honors, International Baccalaureate, and Advanced Placement courses; your IU-specific essay; extracurricular activities; and other achievements.
- Demonstrate financial need by filing a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by February 1, 2022 for the upcoming academic year.
- Be a full-time student enrolled in at least 12 credit hours upon arrival and throughout your academic career at IU Bloomington.
- Be willing to commit to eight to ten hours of work in research each week during your entire enrollment at Indiana University.
- Exhibit academic curiosity and intellectual prowess. You can be interested in any academic major, and are not expected to have prior research experience.
