The Livingstone Community College opens its doors to students in the fall and starts running classes from September until May. If you are looking for a community college with dorms near me, Livingstone Community College can be your best choice.
Most community colleges in the United States do not offer on-campus housing for students. These institutions were established primarily to provide low-cost education for students who commute from their homes. However, there is an increasing trend toward offering dormitories on these campuses[citation needed, particularly because increased costs are causing more students who would typically enroll in a traditional four-year college to attend a two-year school instead. Also, community colleges are increasingly recruiting student athletes and students from outside the U.S., who are more likely to need or want on-campus housing.

community college with dorms in georgia
1 Best College Dorms in Georgia
Sophomore: My experience has been interesting at Fort Valley State. Attending college in the middle of a pandemic has been difficult. It has made it a little harder to get a hold of school officials but the overall experience has been top tier for an HBCU. The black culture was extremely welcoming and the resources they have available are surprising. The staff is slightly unorganized, but they will get you the answers you are looking for with a little bit of time. Plenty of on campus activities and outings that are still socially distanced. Tuition is moderately affordable and the dorms are pretty spacious. Overall I’d give Fort Valley State University a 8 out of 10.

Alum: The Professors invested themselves in the academic/professional success of their students in a way that you will not find at other State Colleges & Universities.
ABAC provides their students with a more “hands on” approach to education that is not available anywhere else in the Southeast. The importance of pursuing internships, and opportunities outside of academic achievement is strongly encouraged. Many graduates now enter the workforce with 3-4 reputable internships on their resume, and a professional network large enough to open doors most young adults wouldn’t imagine possible.
The education I received during my time at ABAC has paid dividends in my career & personal life beyond what I could have ever expected.

Alum: Georgia Southern University is an awesome school! The culture on campus is warm and inviting, and their diversity programs are phenomenal. The teachers and staff at this university make it their mission to ensure that your matriculation to the school is an enjoyable one. At Georgia Southern, you create long-lasting connections with peers that are considered more your family than your friends. Everyone at this great institution cares for your safety and well-being. The wide variety of campus events provide a great opportunity to meet new people. My overall experience at Georgia Southern was extremely positive. I enjoyed every aspect of attending this school.

Senior: My experience at GSW is Excellent! The atmosphere is wonderful and everyone is so friendly. Staff and Professors are easy to locate and talk to when having trouble with an assignment or in class. The students are friendly as well, and everything is so close together. The sports are wonderful to watch in your free time on the weekends or even during the week. The president and the wife are lovely as well. My favorite experience at GSW is Waffles with the Weavers. This event takes place right before finals and the Weavers make waffles for the students at night, you can even win a free t-shirt if you show up early! Downtown is a fun place to explore and go out to eat after a long week!

5 Best College Dorms in Georgia
Sophomore: GCSU is an amazing college! The campus is very safe and clean, with a lot of activity centers and engaging clubs. The classes are challenging, but the school provides many tutoring options (writing center, learning center, SI students, etc) and quiet places to study (library). Always be sure to check out your teacher’s grade distribution (available on the school website) before you register for any classes though!

6 Best College Dorms in Georgia
Freshman: I’m finishing up my first year at Oxford College of Emory University, and I’ve loved it! There’s a strong sense of community that I’ve never felt anywhere else, and all the people are really nice. The student body is incredibly smart, while also being down-to-earth, laidback, and cooperative rather than competitive. The education I receive is second to none, and my professors have been extremely insightful, personable, and accommodating. The campus itself is beautiful, with the tree-filled quad, the nature trail, and the new student center. The main drawback is the food, as, even though the quality is great, there are only really 2 food options on campus and they get repetitive fast. UberEats and DoorDash are lifesavers. Oxford College of Emory University has become my new home, and I can’t wait to go back next year.

7 Best College Dorms in Georgia
Alum: TMU was a breath of fresh air. I had attended two other colleges before this, and as soon as I set foot on campus, I knew TMU was “it” for me. The best part is the way people care for you. My professors were knowledgeable in their fields, so helpful and never failed to do everything they could to help me succeed. It is more of a community than anything, and you truly make lifelong friends as well as cultivating networking opportunities. As with every college, there were a few issues. Communication in general could have been better. But overall, it was a wonderful experience!
