Hbcu In Georgia With Nursing Programs

1 Best Colleges for Nursing in Georgia

Freshman: I’m finishing up my first year at Oxford College of Emory University, and I’ve loved it! There’s a strong sense of community that I’ve never felt anywhere else, and all the people are really nice. The student body is incredibly smart, while also being down-to-earth, laidback, and cooperative rather than competitive. The education I receive is second to none, and my professors have been extremely insightful, personable, and accommodating. The campus itself is beautiful, with the tree-filled quad, the nature trail, and the new student center. The main drawback is the food, as, even though the quality is great, there are only really 2 food options on campus and they get repetitive fast. UberEats and DoorDash are lifesavers. Oxford College of Emory University has become my new home, and I can’t wait to go back next year.

2 Best Colleges for Nursing in Georgia

Freshman: The online experience is second to none, and it is full of integrated scopes and practicalities. I particularly enjoy the easily navigated built up of the highlited inscriptions on their webpages. Moreover, students are allowed to have numerous one-on-one encounters with one another. Which is highly commendable. Even when lectures are over, the management of the school has ensured that all questions directed to the authorities concerned are replied as at when due, for smooth transitions of learning and academic growth. Due to all these new measures, I have made so much friends already, even though I we are yet to start the on-campus studies. I so much likke life at mercer university, especially the modus operandi of the laid down rules. It brings to mind the right way to approach a difficult situation. Especially for students who are shy and hardly reaching out for answers. They are always carried along.

3 Best Colleges for Nursing in Georgia

Senior: I transferred to Piedmont College as a Junior student after being accepted to their nursing program and I LOVE IT. I wish that I had begun my college experience at Piedmont. The campus is small enough to know just about everyone but big enough to include a variety of different interests, groups, and activities. The on campus housing at Piedmont is so nice and the food is delicious! My favorite part about Piedmont are the small classroom sizes and how much the professors really care about their students. Outside of class, I love attending sporting events. Piedmont is perfectly located around mountains, lakes, and other outdoor adventures. I wouldn’t change a thing about this school, except maybe the parking.

Sophomore: GCSU is an amazing college! The campus is very safe and clean, with a lot of activity centers and engaging clubs. The classes are challenging, but the school provides many tutoring options (writing center, learning center, SI students, etc) and quiet places to study (library). Always be sure to check out your teacher’s grade distribution (available on the school website) before you register for any classes though!

At Georgia Southern, you create long-lasting connections with peers that are considered more your family than your friends. Everyone at this great institution cares for your safety and well-being. The wide variety of campus events provide a great opportunity to meet new people. My overall experience at Georgia Southern was extremely positive. I enjoyed every aspect of attending this school.

Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College
4 Year TIFTON, GA
Rating 3.89 out of 5 646 reviews

Alum: The Professors invested themselves in the academic/professional success of their students in a way that you will not find at other State Colleges & Universities.

ABAC provides their students with a more “hands on” approach to education that is not available anywhere else in the Southeast. The importance of pursuing internships, and opportunities outside of academic achievement is strongly encouraged. Many graduates now enter the workforce with 3-4 reputable internships on their resume, and a professional network large enough to open doors most young adults wouldn’t imagine possible.

The education I received during my time at ABAC has paid dividends in my career & personal life beyond what I could have ever expected.

Sophomore: I really enjoyed my first year at LaGrange and can’t wait to come back for my sophomore year. I am involved in the athletics here and I had a great season with them. My teammates and I got a long very well and I can’t wait to for this upcoming season with them. Even though this is a small and historical school, I do think the dorms should be updated especially Henry and also provide another food option on campus. The campus is really pretty though especially during the fall. The historical brick buildings is one thing that drew me to this school. This school also has great professors that tend to you and help you through courses. One course is their nursing program which is what we are known for and is what I am majoring in, which I am very excited about!

Senior: I love the Berry Bubble! The campus is always lively. It is the largest (and most beautiful) campus in the world–27,000 acres of land to explore, hike, bike, photograph, and thrive in. The community is wonderful and there are always campus events! The academics are challenging and very well rounded. With small class sizes and a small campus, you really gain connections with professors and other students. The work experience is the school’s best draw. Every student is guaranteed a job–from magazine editor to costume shop employee, media rep, office worker, or even dairy farmer!

Kennesaw State University
4 Year KENNESAW, GA
Rating 3.71 out of 5 4,660 reviews

Junior: Kennesaw State University is constantly growing especially in the art department. They have recently added a second building for specifically visual arts students since the old building could not handle the amount of classes needed to accommodate the students. There are many amazing and interesting courses that go beyond drawing the same still life over and over. The professor heavily encourage creativity and originality. Besides the art department, there are many accommodations made for students of various backgrounds. There are support groups, clubs, associations and fraternities/sororities to choose from. They have transportation all around campus as well as close shopping areas and certain off-campus destinations. Did I mention the cafeteria here is rated #15 in the nation? In conclusion, KSU has been a wonderful experience and I would recommend it for everyone!

University of West Georgia

Alum: UWG is a great college in a small town 45 min west of ATL. You get small class sizes for more 1 on 1 instruction, a beautiful campus, and amazing division 2 facilities and athletics. Plus, our cheerleaders are literally the best cheerleading program in the entire nation! The new President is doing great things to bring UWG up to a D1 standard and give students the best bang for their buck. This place won’t be a “back-up” school much longer. New Provost with growing educational programs are coming to get you those top-choice, high paying jobs now relevant in the 21st century. Come see what UWG has to offer on campus and I guarantee it will be hard to beat.

I loved my time here in the mid 2000’s and if we had then what students have today, it would have felt like winning the lottery. Literally, one of the top growing Universities in Ga in the next few years, watch.

PS – Alabama residents receive in state tuition. So come on over and do yourself a favor. #GoWest

Toccoa Falls College
4 Year TOCCOA FALLS, GA
Rating 3.73 out of 5 313 reviews

Alum: Fantastic community, understanding and compassionate professors (if you make the effort), beautiful campus, and enjoyable school-sanctioned events. No, the underclassmen dorms are not shiny and new, but they are tolerable; campus housing gets nicer once you are able to move to upper campus. Life at Toccoa Falls College is a breeze if you try your best to engulf yourself in the community. There are rules, but they are not hard to break, so what’s the big fuss? The food is really horrible actually, but nothing a trip to the grocery store can’t fix. The town is charming and the Chamber of Commerce hosts free events that you’ll want to attend every now and then. There’s not much to complain about – what you see is what you get. Most, if not all, of these negative reviews stem from ignorance and unrealistic expectations. Oh, and one other thing: You gotta stay on top of Financial Aid. They’ll get you set up, but not without a fight.

Hbcu Nursing Schools In Alabama

2022 Best Colleges for Nursing in Alabama
The Best Colleges for Nursing ranking is based on key statistics and student reviews using data from the U.S. Department of Education. The ranking compares the top nursing schools in the U.S. This year’s rankings have reduced the weight of ACT/SAT scores to reflect a general de-emphasis on test scores in the college admissions process. Read more on how this ranking was calculated.

1 Best Colleges for Nursing in Alabama

Sophomore: Samford is an incedible school! Here you will find professors who actually care and small class sizes that provide engaging academic opportunities. The student body size is small, but that makes it easier to feel at home sooner. Even though the school is small, there are still plenty of opportunities as one would have at a larger university. The on campus dining is not necessarily great, but that’s probably the only drawback of Samford University. There are plenty of student engagement opportunities, and the education is well known to be superb!

2 Best Colleges for Nursing in Alabama

Freshman: I really like the diversity in my school. I feel less out of place when I am surrounded by different types of people. UAB also always makes an effort to cater to students with disabilities and setbacks that affect education. UAB has so many programs that offer financial, mental, physical, and educational accommodations and support. My dorm is very pleasant and has such rooms in each floor. But almost every building also has ample study space and interesting interior environments.

Also, there great food here. THERE SO MANY RESTAURANTS! And even the cafeteria has alleviating events and special meal selections. With the school being in downtown Birmingham, there plenty to eat on and off campus.

I really appreciate UAB’s diversity and the community here. There a niche for everyone and so much to get involved in. Even for free!

But what is appreciate most is UAB’S response to COVID-19. The school was super organized and made me feel safe. Everyone played a part.

3 Best Colleges for Nursing in Alabama

Niche User: I spent a few days there for a student weekend and it was incredible! The dorms are super nice and spacious. The college town surrounding the area is super cute too and there is so much to do! I loved the campus feel, it felt so homey and safe, yet clean and big with lots of opportunities. The food was also incredible consisting of chicken Parmesan and steak, a very healthy and filling meal. Walking by the football stadium was probably one of my favorite parts. It was so incredibly big and so cool. The South Donahue dorms were so incredibly nice. A few of them overlooked the Auburn baseball field and had such a nice view of the campus. I would definitely recommend staying there if you are interested in attending Auburn University. I love how many clubs Auburn has to offer. There are so mny options and opportunities there where you could most definitely thrive and grow as a person. Auburn is hands down my dream school and if I win this scholarship I will put the money towards Auburn.

Jacksonville State University

4 Best Colleges for Nursing in Alabama

Sophomore: When I was applying for Jacksonville State University, and attending their campus tours and orientations, they were very centered on the idea of HOME, and it has quickly became just that, a second home for me. If you are considering attending JSU, I would say for you to absolutely go for it. JSU has a very diverse array of people, degrees, and activities to chose from. I currently commute to school but as of the fall I am going to be living in an apartment just off of campus. Compared to other major universities in Alabama, such as the University of Alabama and Auburn University, tuition at Jacksonville is a cheaper option. Even though the tuition is cheaper, the University is not any less prestige. The only reason I selected N/A on housing rating is because since I have not lived on campus, I cannot speak for the housing personally; however, I have many friends who live on campus who love it, which is why I will be moving in the fall.

7 Best Colleges for Nursing in Alabama

Freshman: I love USA! I came from a very small, local high school, so South’s campus and classes have been both overwhelming and fantastic. The only drawbacks I’ve found have been how difficult it can be to find specific information, especially for first-time freshmen. They’ve handled the pandemic relatively well, requiring masks inside buildings and amply allowing for social distancing. I’m a commuter student, but it doesn’t seem like living on campus would be worth your money in the same way it has been in years past.
