The University of Delaware (also known as UDUDel or Delaware) is a largest public land-grant research university located in Newark, Delaware. The 2021 admissions at the University of Delaware saw an acceptance rate of 68%. With an admission calendar running semester-wise for the fall and spring semester, the university invites applications from international students by the month of March (for fall) and November (for spring). Post-Application Submission Requirements

Post application submission, the international students will have to accept their admission offer and submit the following documents:

  • A financial bank statement showing at least 46,565 USD, or a funding letter from the respective department must be submitted.
  • Passports, affidavits and other essential documents required for submission of the visa forms.
  • It is mandatory for international students to carry medical insurance with them, which would be billed along with the student fee.
  • Proof of immunizations is also essential.

US Visa Requirements

Students are strongly advised to contact OISS for visa-related information. Students must request for the online I-20 or DS-2019 request form which will be evaluated by OISS. When reviewed successfully, the form will be shipped to the student.

International students who are offered admission to the University of Delaware must immediately proceed with their immigration-related work. As soon as they receive their visa documents, they must visit the nearest US Consulate to prepare for their visa interview and obtain their F-1 or J-1 student visa.

Due to the complexity of the admissions procedure, it’s not uncommon for it to take up to three weeks for an application to be processed.
