Once the candidates submit their application, it will be considered by the University of Lincoln. After that depending on the course applied by the candidates, they will be called for an interview. Freshmen Merit Scholarships are awarded exclusively to new incoming first-time freshmen on a competitive basis. This scholarship was established to provide opportunities for students to pursue PhD study and research at Lincoln University.

Note to international applicants: This year’s intake of applications for the Lincoln University Doctoral Scholarship is ONLY OPEN to applicants who are onshore in New Zealand prior to the closing date of 1st October 2021 and have either a conditional offer of admission at Lincoln University or have been registered in the Lincoln University Doctoral programme no more than six months prior to the closing date.

Applicants must be new to the Lincoln University Doctoral programme at the commencement of the Semester immediately following the award OR have registered into the Lincoln University Doctoral programme no more than six months prior to the closing date of applications.

Applicants are also encouraged to commence their admission process into the Doctoral programme at Lincoln University. This should be completed by 1st October – closing date for this scholarship.
