  • Submit Transfer Application. The applicant must submit his/her application online through the universityโ€™s e-portal indicating (transfer student) as option. Please note: The online application is not available for transfer admission but for data entry. The applicant will be required to fill the transfer application form received from the admissions office as well and submit the subsequent documents to the Admissions Office of the university.
  • Transcripts โ€“ (Original Official transcripts from applicantโ€™s current university are required to be submitted within a maximum period of 3 months from date of application. (Note: failure to submit required documents within the specified time will result in forfeiture of admission. There will be no refund of fees paid for that particular semester).
  • Disciplinary Clearance โ€“ A disciplinary clearance letter from applicantโ€™s current Head of department and Dean of student is required for evaluation of the applicant.
  • Photocopies/scanned copies of transcript will be accepted but only conditional admission letter will be issued. Full admission letters will be issued after original copies have been received.
  • Course Description (Details of all course code(s), course description must be attached to the studentโ€™s transcript for clarification. In situation where itโ€™s not provided, the department can still asses the relevant courses that they know, and ask for extra information if required.
  • Two (2) academic recommendations of which at least, one must be from a University Lecturer.
  • Transfer Duration โ€“ Students can transfer in both semesters until the last day of registration. For transfer Students, decision on approval for the award of admission to Southwestern University will be authorized by the corresponding departmentโ€™s board recommendation, Faculty deanโ€™s endorsement, and finally VCโ€™s approval.

1. The first thing to do here is, you need to write to your school your intentions of transferring and reason. It is up to them to grant you an approval.

2. Once your move is granted by your parent institution, the University will then withhold your admission, which means that you cease to be a student of that University.

3. Finally, you can then make an application to your choice institution on your desire to be admitted.

NOTE: If your request for inter-University transfer is not granted, that is, not accepted by the University you are transferring to, you can only return to your former Institution as a fresher and not to continue as an undergraduate, regardless of your level before the transfer.

This simply means, as a 300 level student of the Lagos State University (LASU) and you apply for transfer to University of Ilorin (UNILORIN). If the move eventually fails, you are going to return to LASU as a 100 Level student and no longer as a 300 level student.
