Asnuntuck’s six-week session will run June 2 through July 14, while the College’s eight-week session will begin June 2rd and run through July 28th. Medical, health, and manufacturing courses, will begin on May 24th, with most classes completed no later than July 19th.
Students who are on summer break from their four-year institution should consider taking a course and then transfer the credits back to their institution. Prior to registering, students are advised to check with their home institution to determine whether the courses transfer. Course topics include many disciplines, including art, accounting, biology, business, chemistry, communications, early childhood, computer information systems technology, economics, English, history, human development, human services, manufacturing, medical assisting, philosophy, political science, psychology and sociology.

Student Designed Majors
Asnuntuck Community College allows students to design their own major, if desired. If students would like to study something that is not offered as an official major, designing their own major is a great alternative.

Asnuntuck Community College does not require a senior project for all students.
Double Majoring at Asnuntuck Community College
Asnuntuck Community College offers students the option to double major, if they would like. Student struggling to choose just one area of study may consider a double major.
NOTE: Double majoring may require more work but it can provide an interesting mix of experience that helps students stand out when looking for a job or applying to a graduate program.
Asnuntuck Offers Two Free Summer Courses to High School Students
Asnuntuck Community College is offering area students a free opportunity to enroll in credit courses at the college this summer.

Rising juniors and seniors are encouraged to participate. The college will be offering a four-credit MED 133 Clinical Medical Assisting course. It will be hybrid, with classes being offered on Tuesdays from 12:30 p.m.-2:30 p.m. and Wednesdays from noon to 2 p.m., with students also responsible for online learning. It will be offered from June 28th through July 29th. MED133 offers entry-level theory and skills as it pertains to the field of medical assisting. Students will be responsible for the purchase/rental of textbooks and the purchase of a stethoscope and blood pressure kit (available for less than $30 online). The textbook is used for two other courses at Asnuntuck. High school students can consider utilizing Asnuntuckโs free High School Partnership Program to take additional courses in their junior and senior years and utilize the same textbook.
The second course also offered to rising high school juniors and seniors, will be the three credit BMG 202 Principles of Management. Students will only need to purchase or rent a used or new textbook for that course. This course, also a hybrid, will require students to be on campus on Wednesday evenings from 6-9 p.m. Students will be responsible to do the remainder of their work online. The course will concentrate on the human side of management and case studies will be a major part of the course. It will run from June 29th-July 29th.
