Maricopa Community Colleges is a community college system in Arizona.
The Maricopa Community Colleges (MCC) were established on July 1, 1994 as the result of a merger between ten of the twelve community colleges in Maricopa County and two other districts. The remaining two districts chose not to participate in the merger: Scottsdale Community College, which on July 1, 1994 became part of a separate independent college district known as Scottsdale Education Center; and Mesa Community College, which became an independent university that same year.[1] As such, it is one of the largest single-campus community colleges in the United States.[2][3]
