Pickens Technical College offers nearly 50 certificate programs to adults and high school students as part of the Aurora Public Schools & the Colorado Community College System.
Our goal is to provide students with the opportunity to acquire state-of-the-art skills, knowledge and work habits that will help them succeed in the workforce. Upon completion of most programs students will receive a certificate and transcript that is transferable to any community college or area technical school/college in Colorado in their area of training.
Pickens Technical College students can earn a certificate or an Associate Degree through all cooperating Colorado Community Colleges, authorized by the CCCS, (Colorado Community College system). Check with the individual college for updates and/or degree requirement modifications.
he Practical Nursing program at Pickens Technical College will provide an unsurpassed, equitable, quality education that prepares the learner to become a member of the profession of nursing. Principles and skills of patient care in the following areas include: medical-surgical, maternal-infant, pediatric, and geriatric nursing. Supervised clinical experience courses related to these areas are part of the program curriculum. Upon successful completion of this program the student will receive a certificate and then be eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nursing.

Academics
Pickens Technical College offers more than 40 certificates in fields such as media and communication, human services, construction, landscaping and environment, transportation, health and business technology. Day and evening programs are available.
This college also partners with schools in the Colorado Community College System to offer 2-year degrees, including an Associate of Applied Science in Applied Technology, an Associate of Applied Science in Management and an Associate of General Studies degree. Students complete some of the coursework at Pickens Tech then transfer to a participating community college, which awards them their degree after all coursework has been completed.
In addition, Pickens Technical College offers students co-curricular activities with career and technical student organizations in a wide variety of career fields. The campus Media Center provides instructional material and resources for students and staff, including books, CDs and magazines. The campus also features a Kids Tech Child Care Lab Center, which serves as both a training lab for students enrolled in the early childhood education program as well as a licensed early childhood facility for children ages 1-5. Similarly, a salon offers hair, skin and nail services while providing a training environment for students in the cosmetology department.
