1. Application Deadline
There is no application deadline. They continue to accept applications for each semester. Your application will be automatically considered for the next semester in the event that all seats are filled before you receive a decision.

2. GRE or MCAT
The GRE is required. If you took the test more than one time, you must submit all the results before the enrollment.

Based on 2014-2015 tuition rates for the DVM degree:

4. Accreditation
Ross Veterinary School was given full accreditation status by the American Veterinary Medical Association. The next full review by the AVMA is scheduled for 2018.

7. Transfer Students

The RUSVM accepts transfer students. The applicant must provide evidence of completion of courses or their equivalent at a school of veterinary medicine accredited by the AVMA.

• GPA in required pre-veterinary course work
• Advanced science courses

• Letters of recommendation from academic and/or professional references
• Extracurricular activities and accomplishments
• Personal qualities
• Personal interview

TOEFL is required for applicants presenting fewer than 60 upper-division credits from a college or university where English is not the primary language. The school would need to see your school transcripts and GRE results. They will want to know what kind of student you have been and judge how well you will stand up to the intensity of a veterinary school education. But they also want to know about you as a person, because ultimately that is what will determine the kind of veterinarian you will be. So, in their evaluation process, they give consideration to any student who shows the potential for handling the rigorous academic challenges of the school. In doing so, they focus as much on the life experience and determination of their candidates as on their academic background.

Canadian students may satisfy English requirements in 4 possible ways: (1) 2 semesters of University humanities where essays composed at least 40% of the overall mark, (2) those holding a grade 13 English credit in Ontario, (3) International Baccalaureate and (4) Advanced Placement English.

Required Experience

Veterinary and Animal Experience

Applicants are required to complete the equivalent of at least 150 hours of Veterinary Profession experience, working with animals or veterinary research. It is preferable that all such experience has taken place under the supervision of practicing veterinarians, but comparable experience may be considered.
