FREE SEAT PROGRAM

The Free Seat Program was created to encourage veterans, active duty members of the United State Armed Forces, active drilling members of the Florida National Guard, and nontraditional students to enroll in an online baccalaureate degree program at a state university.

The tuition and fees for one online baccalaureate course will be waived in the first term in which the student participates in the Free Seat Program. After the one-time waiver, the standard UF Online tuition and fees will apply for all subsequent courses.

GRANDPARENT WAIVER OF OUT-OF-STATE TUITION AND FEES

In 2021, the Florida Legislature amended Section 1009.26, Florida Statutes, to create the Grandparent Waiver. Beginning with out-of-state undergraduate students admitted for the 2022-23 academic year, eligible students with grandparents residing in Florida may be eligible for a tuition and fee waiver for out-of-state costs up to 110% of total degree hours. Your applicant type is based off theย number of transferable college creditsย you will have earned prior to your intended first term in our program.

  • If you have 12-59 transferable credits, you are aย Lower Division Transferย applicant.
