Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degrees

They are offered by the University of Padova in partnership with other European and international universities. Application/selection procedures and deadlines differ from the University of Padova standard procedures.

How to apply

The University of Padua welcomes applications from international students. You are considered an โ€œinternational studentโ€ if you hold a non-Italian academic diploma, degree or equivalent.

Apply for a full degree programme

  Bachelor’s degrees

To be eligible for admission to a Bachelorโ€™s degree or a single-cycle degree, you need a minimum 12-year school record.

If you have been awarded a final diploma after a shorter programme of study (i.e. less than 12 years), in order to become eligible you must:

  • have attended at least 1 (in case of 11 years of schooling) or 2 (in case of 10 years of schooling) years of academic studies and passed all the scheduled exams.

OR

  • have obtained a post-secondary qualification  in a non-University higher education institution, certifying the additional one or two years of education. 

OR

  • have successfully completed one or two year preparatory courses (Foundation courses) to compensate for the missing years of schooling.

If in the country where you achieved your qualification a entrance exam is set for the admission to the University (e.g.: selectividad in Spagna, Prova de Aferiรงao o Prova Geral de Acesso ao Ensino Superior in Portogallo, Vestibular o Exame Nacional do Ensino Mรฉdio in Brasile, Gao Kao in China etc.), you must provide also a certificate which states that you have passed that test.

The pre-school year can be considered if officially recognised in the national education path, provided that the attendance is mandatory and the programme includes the teaching of the language (reading and writing) and the fundamentals of arithmetic.

If in the country where you achieved your qualification an entrance exam is set for the admission to the University (e.g.: selectividad in Spagna, Prova de Aferiรงao o Prova Geral de Acesso ao Ensino Superior in Portogallo, Vestibular o Exame Nacional do Ensino Mรฉdio in Brasile, Gao Kao in China etc.), you must provide also a certificate which states that you have passed that test. 

ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS – SPECIFIC CASES

China

The score obtained in the Gao Kao exam must be equal to or higher than 400/750.

International Baccalaureate (IB)

  • Diploma of  International Baccalaureate;
  • at least 24 points in six subjects of choice, 12 of which must be obtained at “Higher Level”;
  • pass achieved in the three main subjects: Theory of Knowledge (TOK), Extended Essay (EE), Creativity, Action, Service (CAS).
  • IB certificates issued for single subjects cannot replace the full diploma.

United Kingdom

England, Galles, Northern Ireland: General Certificate of Education (GCE) (International General Certificate of Education  – IGCE if issued outside the UK) issued by official certification bodies of the United Kingdom)

  • three subjects at an advanced level (A level), relevant to the degree programme of interest and passed with at least a minimun grade (passing grade – E);
  • or Cambridge Pre-U Diploma = three Pre-U Principal Subjects + Global Perspective and Research;
  • or a combination of 3 different subjects between A level and Pre-U Principal Subjects. A level o Pre-U Principal Subject in italian language will not be considered for candidates with an Italian citizenship and/or for enrolment in degree programmes completely held in English

Scotland: three subjects Advanced Highers or two Advanced Highers and at least four Higher

USA

  • High School Diploma (HSD);
  • three USAdvanced Placements” (APs) with a score from 3 to 5, in three different subjects related to the university course selected; the exams report must be issued by the College Board;
  • An “AP” in Italian will not be considered for students with Italian citizenship and/or for enrolment in degree programmes completely taught in English;
  • APs can be replaced by two years of further “College” courses (Associate degree) or at least one year of courses at University level

  Master’s degrees

To be eligible for admission to a Masterโ€™s degree, you need a Bachelorโ€™s degree or equivalent foreign qualification with specific curricular requirements.

Please note: courses at the University of Padua start at the end of September/beginning of October. Enrolment for the 2nd semester is not available.
