Registering for Summer Courses

Summer course offerings can be found by visiting the Schedule of Courses and selecting “Class Search.”

Penn State Students. Currently enrolled Penn State students may register for summer classes in LionPATH.

Non-Penn State Students. All non-Penn State students must complete the Undergraduate Non-Degree Enrollment Form. This form can be filled out online and then printed; forms must be returned to the Registrar’s Office at the campus where enrollment is planned:

Please Note: Enrollment as a non-degree student does not imply admission to the University. You must make formal application to be considered for admission as an undergraduate degree student.

Admission

Graduates of accredited high schools or students with high school equivalency diplomas may register for undergraduate courses provided they meet course prerequisites.

Enrollment in a class does not imply admission to the University. To become a degree candidate, you must apply for formal admission. For further information, contact the Penn State Wilkes‑Barre Admissions office at (570) 675‑9238.

Transfer of Credit

Students intending to transfer Penn State credits to another institution will need to complete a transcript request form at the end of summer session. Transcript request must be done through the Office of the University Registrar.

Tuition

Please note: The tuition rates for Summer 2022 have not yet been determined. More information is forthcoming.

Pennsylvania residents

Lower division: $559/credit (Freshmen and Sophomore Rate)
Upper division: $603/credit (Junior and Senior Rate)
Upper division, Business, Science, IST, Engineering: $615/credit (Junior and Senior Rate)

Non-Pennsylvania residents

Lower division: $934/credit (Freshmen and Sophomore Rate)
Upper division: $988/credit (Junior and Senior Rate)
Graduate: Business, Science, IST, Engineering: $1,211/credit
All other programs: $1,158/credit

The Information Technology Fee is determined by the number of credits scheduled. Contact the Finance Office at (570) 675-9289 for more information.

Tuition Payment

Tuition payment is due by the first day of class of the earliest session in which you enroll. If you have not received a bill by the week prior to the start of your earliest session class, please contact the Finance Office at (570) 675‑9289.

Please refer any questions regarding payment, rates for dropped classes, withdrawals, or refund to the Finance Office.

Limited Enrollments and Cancellations

A maximum class size is established for most courses. The University reserves the right to cancel or postpone any class because of insufficient enrollment or unforeseen circumstances.
