Vet School Requirements

Vet school requirements vary by country and region, but the basics are the same. Generally, you must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent before you can apply to veterinary school. Some schools accept applicants with an associate’s degree, as long as they also have a certain GPA or amount of relevant work experience. Some institutions require that every applicant take the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) and submit scores to their institution directly; some schools use these scores when making admission decisions but don’t require them outright.

Formal education in veterinary medicine is offered only at veterinary colleges within universities that offer graduate programs in other areas such as animal science, biology or clinical sciences. To be eligible for admission into vet school, applicants must hold degrees from accredited institutions and meet minimum academic requirements for admission set by each specific university’s admissions office; these requirements vary widely among different universities but typically include at least one year of biology courses along with several years of general chemistry and organic chemistry courses taken prior to applying for admission into vet school programs across Europe (source).
