Aalborg University (AAU) is a Danish public university with campuses in Aalborg, Esbjerg, and Copenhagen founded in 1974. The university awards bachelor’s degrees, master’s degrees, and PhD degrees in a wide variety of subjects within humanities, social sciences, information technology, design, engineering, exact sciences, and medicine. About Aalborg University
Aalborg University is a Danish university located mainly in Aalborg, Denmark, with campuses in Aalborg, Esbjerg and Copenhagen. It offers 76 undergraduate educations and 112 postgraduate educations, and several of those are conducted in English. The university is divided into four faculties:

Aalborg University (AAU) was established in 1974 under Aalborg University Center (AUC), but changed its name to Aalborg University in 1994. The university is headquartered and located on the main campus in the eastern part of the Aalborg, but the university also has departments located downtown. The MSc programme in Marketing at Aalborg University Business School (AAUBS) prepares students for a career within sales and marketing. The programme provides you with an understanding of the elements within the marketing area and gives you a specialized set of skills related to market orientation. When graduated, you will get a master’s degree in Economics and Business Administration with specialisation in Marketing.
The MSc programme in Marketing has its focus within the marketing and sales area with the purpose of giving you a broad understanding of the core functions in organisations related to marketing and sales. The programme provides you with the necessary skills and competences to become a sales and marketing professional by developing your knowledge within different areas in marketing, including customer needs, relationships building, value creating, exchanges and branding.
The MSc programme has been designed and is carried out in close collaboration with an advisory board comprised of managers representing a broad variety of business. These managers help us to make sure that the courses we offer are relevant, updated to meet or excel current business practice and are in alignment with the expectations of your future employers. Thus, the programme combines a practical approach with sound theory to create a learning environment that is both challenging and stimulating. Moreover, the programme will provide you with a problem-based learning approach, where you gain knowledge by solving relevant theoretical and empirical problems.

ACADEMIC CONTENT
The MSc programme in Marketing is a two-year full time programme which is divided into four semesters and consists of a number of compulsory and elective courses taught by Danish and international researchers.
The compulsory courses make up the core foundation of the MSc. Marketing programme and provides in-depth knowledge about two important themes relating to marketing: value creation and value capture.
All educational activities aim to take authentic business problems as their point of departure by adopting case-based teaching, inviting guest lectures, organizing company visits, and facilitating company collaboration.

- SEMESTER
The first semester consists of two compulsory courses and a semester project that revolve around value creation, marketing strategy, and consumer behaviour. These courses focus on how firms can generate superior customer value as a means to attain competitive edge. In addition to the compulsory core courses, students will have the ability to select two elective courses, enabling them to customize the programme according to their own interests and career goals. - SEMESTER
The second semester consists of two compulsory courses and a semester project that revolve around value capture, including the mechanisms that allow firms to capture customer value. Topics covered in the second semester include pricing strategies, sales metrics and management of marketing channels and ecosystems. In addition to the compulsory core courses, students will have the ability to select two elective courses, enabling them to customize the programme according to their own interests and career goals.

- SEMESTER
On the third semester, you can choose to take ordinary courses or elective course together with a project-oriented internship, which allows you to apply what you have learned during the two previous semesters and provides you with valuable work experience. Alternatively, you can devote an entire semester to another study.

The fourth semester finishes off the programme with the master thesis. Here students have the opportunity to work on identifying, examining, analyzing and reflecting on theoretical and practical problems related to marketing.
