Every year, graduate programs are ranked by U.S. News & World Report using both qualitative and quantitative data. For the recent engineering program rankings, a total of 215 engineering schools were surveyed, all of which offer Ph.D. programs. Data was collected in both the fall of 2015 and early 2016. Engineering school deans, deans of graduate studies at engineering schools and corporate recruiters were asked to rate programs. Other factors that were considered include mean GRE quantitative scores, acceptance rates, student to faculty ratio, doctoral degrees awarded and research expenditures.
