The University of Greenwich, formerly known as Woolwich Polytechnic  (1890-19700 and Thames Polytechnic (1970-1992), is a London-based public university. About 20000 students are enrolled in various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes today. The University of Greenwich acceptance rate is at 15.89% indicating high competition. 

The University of Greenwich has three main campuses:

The Greenwich campus is home to Business School and the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Greenwich Maritime Institute, a specialist institute in maritime management, policy and history teaching and research.

The Avery Hill campus houses the faculty of education and health. It also offers several courses at Medway campus.

The Medway Campus in Kent houses the Faculty of Engineering and Science, Natural Resources Institute, a centre for research, consultancy and education in natural and human resources. It is also the home of Medway School of Pharmacy, a joint school operated by the Universities of Greenwich and Kent.

The University of Greenwich is quite popular among international students. The university also has various partner institutions in India that guide students in the application process. Presently, 280 Indian students are studying in the university across all programmes. Apart from this, the university is also home to international students from over 140 nations worldwide. In 2018-2019, it had a total student body of 18,944, out of which 2,642 were international students and 1,371 Indian students.
