West Pomeranian University of Technology, Szczecin was established in 2009 through the unification of two universities: the Szczecin University of Technology and the University of Agriculture in Szczecin. It is a leading public university in north-western Poland that cooperates with multiple regional stakeholders to understand and meet its socio-economic needs. On 5 July 2007, the senates of the Agricultural Academy in Szczecin and Szczecin University of Technology passed a unanimous resolution on joining two universities. In January 2008 the Conventions of Student Governments, as well as Doctoral Student Parliaments of both Universities, adopted a similar position on it. A multistage and longterm legislative process was completed by the Sejm Act on the West Pomeranian University of Technology establishment of 5 September 2008 and by the signature of the President of the Republic of Poland of 30 September 2008. The West Pomeranian University of Technology officially started on 1 January 2009.

New fields are constantly created as the answer to changing economic conditions and needs of the labor market. Both universities contributed to a system offering students a wide range of academic education: undergraduate studies, postgraduate studies, one-cycle five-year Master’s degree studies, doctoral studies and a wide variety of post-diploma studies. The laboratories and study facilities of Szczecin University of Technology and the University of Agriculture in Szczecin were modernized in the last few years. This process has been continued at newly created WPUT. International cooperation concerning teaching processes and scientific projects will still be one of the priorities of WPUT.

The creation of the West Pomeranian University of Technology consolidated research teams dealing with: engineering, environmental protection, renewable energy, bio- and nanotechnologies, polymers, economics and industry, and agriculture technologies. WPUT has powers to confer the Ph.D. degree in 19 specializations and the degree of assistant professor in 13 fields. This is an enormous and precious potential which provides students with proper preparation to their professional lives and the University itself with scientific development suitable for contemporary challenges.

Recognizing the benefits resulting from international cooperation, the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin is an institution open to all kind of projects enhancing internationalization processes and introducing an international dimension to its educational and research activities. A special invitation is open to foreign students willing to complete both full degrees and part-time programs during exchange periods (e.g. one or two semesters In the framework of Erasmus+ program).

West Pomeranian Business School

Established in 1993, the West Pomeranian Business School is a private higher education institution located in a small city of Szczecin, West Pomeranian Voivodeship. It offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees in several areas of study.

The institution offers programs such as Bachelor degree in International Business, Master degree in Global Management and Non degree programs (International MBA or Business Diploma). Within its Lifelong Learning Programme โ€“ Erasmus the students are able to spend 4-5 months in one of the partner universities. They can choose from fascinating locations like Madrid, Lisbon, Antwerp and Berlin.

The West Pomeranian Business Schoolโ€™s Bachelor degree in Management in International Business is a specialized 3-year (6 semesters) business program covering issues related to the global economy, foreign trade, international relations, international management, law and ethics. The Masterโ€™s degree in Management in Global Management is a specialized 2-year (4 semesters) business program covering issues in the area of global management and business to develop a global management mindset. It emphasizes on the application of business knowledge.

The Non degree programmes are a great alternative to the students who have not yet decided to whether they want to do full degree abroad. After completion of one year of the programme students can gain a Business diploma and can then decide whether to continue their education with the West Pomeranian Business School. In case a student decides to continue, he/she are eligible to enter the second year of the International Business Studies bachelor degree programmes or after completion of IMBA, eligible to enter the second year of International Business Studies master degree programmes.
