An important additional resource is the EducationUSA Program. EducationUSA is a US Department of State network of over 400 international student-advising centers in more than 170 countries. Students in programs requiring the production of filmed projects may expect to incur costs associated with the production of these projects. While no two productions are the same and there is no โtypicalโ budget, certain elements of production should be expected to complete the program. These may include but are not limited to:
Prop rental, wardrobe rental, location rental, film stock costs, lab fees, city permit fees, catering, craft services, talent fees, set dressing, and other elements of production. Students may incur additional expenses relating to these costs and other costs not listed here.

Textbooks are not available for purchase at the New York Film Academy. All required reading material is available to students in the NYFA library, textbook purchases are voluntary and may be purchased from a third party vendor.

The Need Based Tuition Assistance is designed for applicants with financial need in order to help reduce the cost of education in New York Film Academy’s long-term programs including the One-year and Two-year Conservatory Programs as well as the AFA, BA, BFA, MA and MFA degree programs. In order to qualify, applicants must show a credible need through documentation such as income tax statements or bank statements. Applicants must also submit an essay describing their need and accomplishments.

Talent Based Tuition Award The Talent Based Tuition Award is a program designed to identify applicants with exceptional aptitude for their program of study. All Talent Based Awards are based on an applicant’s audition or portfolio and determined by the Admissions Department during the admissions process. Merit Based Tuition Award The New York Film Academyโs Merit Based Tuition Award provides financial assistance to qualified candidates of the college’s Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Fine Arts Programs. Recipients must demonstrate a history of academic achievement in addition to leadership, community service and a commitment to the arts.
In order to be eligible for a Merit Based Tuition Award, candidates must be accepted to a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Fine Arts program. Applicants are evaluated based upon information provided in the admissions process including high school GPA and documentation of leadership roles, awards, community service or arts involvement.
*International Applicants that wish to be considered for a Merit Based Tuition Award must have academic transcripts converted byย WESย into a U.S. equivalent GPA.
Matthew Modine Masters Scholarshipย The New York Film Academy Matthew Modine Masters Scholarship provides financial assistance to outstanding candidates of the school’s Master of Fine Arts (MFA) programs in Filmmaking and Acting for Film. Recipients must demonstrate the values set forth by New York Film Academy to further the art of visual storytelling. Candidates will exhibit exemplary purpose, creativity, and commitment to community. Rising Artist Scholarship for Teen Campsย New York Film Academy is looking to award extremely passionate and talented visual and performance artists with a scholarship for a New York Film Academy teen camp or workshop. The awarded teen will have the option to attend in-person at our New York or Los Angeles campus or complete the program online. Federal Pell Grant (Pell)
The maximum Pell Grant for 2020-21 award year is $6,195
The Federal Pell Grant is awarded to eligible undergraduate applicants or students who have not earned a bachelor’s or professional degree. Award amounts are based on the applicant’s level of need and enrollment status. If the applicant is enrolled less than full-time, the award will be prorated. Applicants must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to begin the award review process. All information provided on the FAFSA is reviewed for accuracy by NYFA financial aid staff. Award amounts are not determined until a full file review has been completed.

The New York Film Academy (NYFA) Overview
The New York Film Academy (NYFA) is a for-profit private film and acting school. NYFA has five campuses and many destination programmes around the world. NYFA has additional ten locations to provide experiential learning to new performing arts students. New York Film Academy offers 26 programs at undergraduate and postgraduate level across film, acting and media.
To secure admission to the NYFA, students does not require any minimum GPA or score requirements. Each department has a separate creative portfolio requirement. Applicants must ensure that their creative portfolio is submitted. Additionally, applicants are interviewed as a part of the application process by an admissions committee member.

New York Film Academy Campus
The New York cityโs urban campus offers Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degrees, Conservatory programs running for a year or two years, and short-term workshops.Bachelor degrees are also offered in Acting for Film and Filmmaking. The campus has infrastructure to teach acting and other technical aspects of filmmaking to the students and is equipped with dubbing rooms, performance areas, makeup rooms etc. required for the learning.
- The LA Campus provides working opportunities while studying. On this campus the admissions are taken on a rolling basis and the glamour world of the city adds to the teachings.
- The South Beach Florida campus also has bachelors and masters programs to offer. The Gold Coast Australia campus also has short and long term programs on offer.

Overall, 20% of the students reside in a student residence facility owned and managed by Educational Housing Services. Accommodations in the USA are generally expensive in New York city.
The New York Film Academy provides double room accommodations and a very limited number of single rooms for students who choose to live in a dormitory setting. Student resident housing expenses are determined by the length of the program and average around $1800 per month per individual.
Apartment living is also an alternative. In the New York City region, the typical cost of a furnished shared apartment is from $1000 to $2500 per month per person. Furnished studio apartments may start as little as $2200 per month. Students can rent apartments on a sharing basis for both long-term and short-term stays.

To find off campus accommodation at NYFA, the housing Department can assist students in finding an apartment or residential option for both long and short-term stays. Unless otherwise specified, all alternatives are within walking/biking distance of our campuses. Off-campus apartments can cost anything from USD 1,300/month for an unfurnished studio to USD 1,800/month for an unfurnished two-bedroom. (Pricing is influenced by amenities, location, length of stay, and unit size.) Furnished one and two bedroom apartments are also available, with prices starting at USD 1,300/month.

New York Film Academy Scholarships
Students with excellent academic records have merit based awards and those who can successfully demonstrate the financial need can get need based financial help. Matthew Modine Masters Scholarship- Acceptance in MFA and a nomination by Enrollment Advisor or Relevant Faculty/Staff are required to receive award amounts ranging from 5,000-10,000 USD annually. Need-based Tuition Assistance is offered on presenting financial documents like bank statements. Though very few international students receive this aid, it is still open for application.
