Be in good standing at UGA

All applicants to a major in the Terry College of Business must be in good academic standing and eligible for enrollment at the University of Georgia.

All applicants to a major in the Terry College of Business must be currently enrolled in the University of Georgia. b. 2.6 overall GPA and a 2.0 UGA GPA. If you plan to apply during your first semester at UGA (transfer students) you don’t need to worry about UGA GPA.

A grade or exemption in Math 1113 must be posted to the applicant’s UGA academic record.

ACCT 2101

A grade in ACCT 2101 must be posted to the applicant’s UGA academic record.

BUSN 3000 (formerly MSIT 3000)

Students must have completed or be enrolled in BUSN 3000 (formerly MSIT 3000).

Testing Requirements

• Students are required to submit ACT or SAT scores and sub-scores to the University prior to being considered for admission to a major in the Terry College. In addition to required ACT/SAT scores, students may also supplement their application by submitting a score from the ETS Proficiency Profile if they believe their ACT/SAT scores do not represent their current performance level. IMPORTANT: Read detailed Testing Requirement instructions by clicking here.
• Accounting and Finance applicants must also complete the Terry Accounting Exam.
• The ETS Proficiency Profile and the Accounting Exam are administered by UGA Testing Services, and all questions regarding testing times and costs should be directed there (testing.uga.edu).

Statement of Purpose

A Statement of Purpose is a brief essay (300-400 words) which describes your interest in a major and future goals. A separate Statement of Purpose is required for each major.

• If applying to the International Business (IB) co-major, only the first-choice Statement of Purpose should describe the applicant’s interests/goals in IB and the level of foreign language satisfied.

Major Selections

Students apply to a first and second choice major. Students who are not accepted to a first-choice major will be considered for acceptance to a second-choice major (second choice major options include ECON, MGMT, REAL and RMIN). Be sure to review the selection criteria for each major.
