History
The Oxford University Saïd Business School was founded in 1996, but business as a program of study dates back to the 1960’s at Oxford, and the foundation of the School itself began in 1988 with a recommendation for a Management Studies school at Oxford. The first MBA students were admitted in 1996, and in that first year they attended lectures in the Radcliffe Infirmary, a fully functioning hospital in the center of Oxford. The school has since moved to its Park End Street location, which was erected in 2001 after a £23 million donation by Wafic Saïd. In 2013, the Prince of Wales inaugurated the newest wing of the school.
Oxford University itself has been open for nearly 1,000 years. While no exact date exists for the beginning of the institution, it is well-regarded as the oldest English-speaking university and is currently the second-oldest active university in world history.

University of Oxford Admission
The first step to applying is to choose a program offered by Oxford University. In 2019, 35% of successful applicants got an offer from a college they didn’t specify on their application.
Choice of College at Oxford University
College’s campus code can be put on UCAS application form to specify a preference but one might still be shortlisted and offered a place by another college.
- How to Decide about College at Oxford University?
- Consider the size and reputation of the college for the desired course, accommodation facilities in UK, location and access, facilities, grants, and other funding options.
- What if unable to decide about College at Oxford University?
- Make an open application by choosing campus code 9 on the UCAS application. This will mean that your application will be assigned to a college or hall that has relatively fewer applications for your course in the year you apply
- Which college is easiest to get into Oxford University?
- Competition for places at all Oxford colleges is very strong. If a college is very oversubscribed for a particular course, shortlisted applicants might be ‘reallocated’ and invited to interview by another college instead.
