San Antonio is home to the Alamo Colleges, the second largest community college district in the state and the largest in south Texas. Founded in 1852, St. Mary’s University is the oldest university in San Antonio, the oldest and largest Catholic university in both Texas and the Southwest, and home to the only Catholic law school in the state.
