Historically, the pharmacist’s role in healthcare centered around dispensing medications in accordance with a prescription, and providing a final check to ensure accurate delivery of medications to patients. Although they receive training in preventive care, health and wellness, and patient education, pharmacists have traditionally leveraged their clinical knowledge to review prescribed drug regimens to prevent inappropriate dosing and minimize drug interactions. Our PharmD program is a unique, year-round, three-year accelerated program that allows students to finish their education and earn a pharmacist’s salary a year sooner than about 90% of other U.S. colleges and schools of pharmacy. The program puts students on the fast track to their degree and licensure.
We embrace a “Pharmily” philosophy, offering a student-centered program that is a welcoming, inclusive environment where all are our valued. Our small class sizes and low student-to-faculty ratio allow faculty to give individualized attention to each student. Admissions
The College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences offers a unique, year-round, accelerated Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program. Annually, an ideal class of 50 to 60 students begin the program each July.
The Doctor of Pharmacy program receives applications for admission and applicant credentials exclusively through the Pharmacy College Application Service (PharmCAS), provided by the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP).
The first step on the road to becoming a pharmacist is to meet with a member of our admissions team. Admissions Overview
1. Complete the Application on PharmCAS by the Deadline
All material will be submitted to PharmCAS:
- Transcripts
- Two Letters of Recommendation
- Personal Statement
- Optional standardized test scores may be submitted for the Admissions Committee to consider while evaluating your application (PCAT preferred, GRE, MCAT, DAT, etc. test scores may be considered). The Admissions Committee reserves the right to request a test score from any applicant in order to make a more informed admissions decision. We encourage you to speak with an Admissions Advisor about whether a test score might strengthen your application. Scores must not be more than 2 years old at the start of each application cycle.
- A standardized test score is required for all internal scholarship consideration.

2. Complete Interview
Those applicants who qualify will be offered an onsite interview. The admissions committee takes a holistic view of your application. SU COPHS will interview approximately 200-250 applicants.

3. Academic Update
All candidates and conditionally accepted students must complete academic updates through PharmCAS in the fall and spring.
Fall Academic Update: the window for the Fall 2022 Academic Update on PharmCAS is from December 2022 until February 2023.
Spring Academic Update: the window for the Spring 2023 Academic Update is open continuously. Spring grades need to be updated in PharmCAS by June 15, 2023.

Completing the Doctor of Pharmacy is an investment in your future career. Many Sullivan students use some form of financial assistance to help cover the cost of their education. The time, effort, and financial resources you contribute to your education are among the most important investments you will ever make. Some things to keep in mind as you review our PharmD tuition rates in comparison with other programs:
- We are a three-year, accelerated, year-round program. Tuition costs are concentrated into three years, rather than spread across four years in traditional programs.
- Our graduates enter the workforce, earning a pharmacist’s salary and benefits, a year earlier than four-year program graduates.
- Tuition is comprehensive of all academic fees. There are NO ADDITIONAL STUDENT FEES (i.e. lab fees, technology fees, health fees, etc.).
- Tuition is locked in for students when they matriculate. Tuition will remain at the same rate for all three years of the program.
The annual tuition for the PharmD 2023-2024 Academic Year is $54,060.

Dual PharmD/MBA
The College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and the Sullivan University Graduate programs offer the opportunity to concurrently complete a Master of Business Administration degree while completing the Doctor of Pharmacy degree program. This opportunity is available to students who have been accepted into the PharmD program. While students pursuing the dual degree typically begin MBA coursework after at least one academic quarter in the PharmD program, the MBA program may be started prior to a student’s matriculation into the PharmD program (any quarter start date after acceptance to the PharmD program).
