New spacious and modern on-campus dormitories are offered, and depending on availability, incoming freshmen may receive a double dorm for up to two semesters, free!

A convenient bus service runs between San Nicolas and Oranjestad every hour. If desired, students may rent or buy vehicles locally at reasonable rates.
Government-regulated taxi service is offered throughout the island, and there are many scenic walking, hiking, and biking routes available.

Weather
Aruba enjoys a dry and sunny climate which is kept pleasant and temperate year-round due to the cooling effects of the trade winds. The average annual temperature is 83 degrees Fahrenheit (27 Celsius), and rainfall amounts to just 17 inches a year, most of which occurs during the months of October and November.

Scholarships & Finances
Scholarships
Five individually sponsored scholarships are available and are awarded to outstanding and deserving students upon the recommendation of the scholarship committee for students who have a bachelor’s degree in science with a GPA of 3.0 or higher and an MCAT score of 26 or higher. Scholarship students must maintain a final-average grade of A or B in each semester at Aureus. Please submit a paragraph in support of your request along with your application when you apply. The scholarship amount ranges from $2,500 to $10,000.
Student Loan
A unique student loan program is available to exceptional students who have a bachelor’s degree in science with a GPA of 3.2 or higher, an MCAT score of 27 or higher. Students must maintain a 90 percentile final average for each semester at Aureus. The first ten students are considered for a total four-year tuition loan of $80,445 with a co-borrower’s signature.
Financial Aid
Although Aureus is a very young organization, the management, board, and its experienced faculty are working hard to assist you in financial matters. Federally subsidized loans are not yet available in the United States but loans from various private lending institutions and banks are available when supported by a co-signer. TFC Tuition Funding Corporation offers loans to eligible students. A co-signer is required.

Aureus University also participates in RESP (Registered Education Savings Plan) and CESP (Canada Education Savings Program) backed by the Canadian government. OSAP – Ontario Student Assistance Program is available for students residing in Ontario province in Canada. Aureus University is now recognized by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) as an offshore University as per Paragraph 118.5(1 )(b) and Paragraph 118.6(1 )(b) of the Canadian Income Tax Act. United States veterans can take advantage of GI Bill benefits for higher education in medicine. The benefits will cover a large portion of the tuition. US Veterans can also take advantage of the VA Education Program.
