  1. University of Georgia4 Year Athens, GA Rating 3.96 out of 5 5,454 reviews#1 Best Colleges for Communications in GeorgiaSenior: The University of Georgia provides so many resources and outlets for students to grow their identity and passions. I love the atmosphere it provides for students to transition into the next stage of life with the tailgates, the athletics, the traditions, and the activities. Downtown Athens is a special place to many in the community, and it truly is like no other. This place draws the attention of those who enjoy food, sightseeing, and having fun. UGA is an incredible school with so many opportunities and genuine people. I have met some of my closest friends here, and I have also been able to challenge myself. The College of Education has pushed me to think beyond my comfort zone, and I am so thankful for the professors and experiences, especially study abroads! Something that I would love to see change is the diversity and integration of the Athens community with UGA students. It would be incredibly powerful for this community to unite and grow together while supporting one another!

  2. Georgia Institute of Technology4 Year Atlanta, GA Rating 3.79 out of 5 2,069 reviews#2 Best Colleges for Communications in GeorgiaSophomore: Georgia Institute of Technology gives its students an incredible, quality education. I love this place! First, the opportunities that the name “Georgia Tech” brings to its students are invaluable, and cannot be compared to any other institution. Many of my colleagues simply received interviews and offers solely because of the name on their resume. Its also important to mention how great the professors and staff are here, as well.
Further, the community is awesome. I have met and will continue to meet incredible minds. There are so many different people and groups here that everyone will find a place. The friends that I have made here I hold close to my heart.
Also, I want to mention its location. Atlanta is truly a beautiful city with many things to do after a long days of studying. There’s the Coca-cola factory, Ponce City Market, and much more.

  3. Emory University4 Year Atlanta, GA Rating 3.8 out of 5 1,523 reviews#3 Best Colleges for Communications in GeorgiaFreshman: I’m finishing up my first year at Oxford College of Emory University, and I’ve loved it! There’s a strong sense of community that I’ve never felt anywhere else, and all the people are really nice. The student body is incredibly smart, while also being down-to-earth, laidback, and cooperative rather than competitive. The education I receive is second to none, and my professors have been extremely insightful, personable, and accommodating. The campus itself is beautiful, with the tree-filled quad, the nature trail, and the new student center. The main drawback is the food, as, even though the quality is great, there are only really 2 food options on campus and they get repetitive fast. UberEats and DoorDash are lifesavers. Oxford College of Emory University has become my new home, and I can’t wait to go back next year.

  4. Berry College4 Year Mount Berry, GA Rating 3.7 out of 5 735 reviews#4 Best Colleges for Communications in GeorgiaSenior: I love the Berry Bubble! The campus is always lively. It is the largest (and most beautiful) campus in the world–27,000 acres of land to explore, hike, bike, photograph, and thrive in. The community is wonderful and there are always campus events! The academics are challenging and very well rounded. With small class sizes and a small campus, you really gain connections with professors and other students. The work experience is the school’s best draw. Every student is guaranteed a job–from magazine editor to costume shop employee, media rep, office worker, or even dairy farmer!

In my experience, the professors are all very kind and willing to help. There are tons of resources available to students to help us succeed (such as free tutoring). The library is wonderful, the food is pretty good, the residence halls are very nice (I stayed at Adams Hall), the classes are challenging but fair, and everyone you meet is incredibly kind! What more could you want in a college? I’m so lucky to call GCSU home!

  6. Savannah College of Art and Design4 Year Savannah, GA Rating 3.8 out of 5 3,179 reviews#6 Best Colleges for Communications in GeorgiaSophomore: So far so good! I am a sophomore and I have thoroughly enjoyed my professors and classes. Most impressive has been how easily you can create professional contacts and get real world experience. I have already produced two senior thesis films and create my own short films on the side using SCAD equipment. The school has lots of resources and all the professors have real world and industry experience that they are happy to share. So glad I chose this school!

(NOTES: I chose N/A for athletics because no one attends sports for the most part and it would artificially reduce the score. People complain about the food, they’re being silly. There are amazing food trucks that roam campus and take meal swipes and make amazing calzones/asian fusion food, which is super cool! Take most criticism with a grain of salt.)

This beautiful college is located at the heart of downtown Atlanta. Which is the perfect spot for food, fun activities and school all in one. Imagine going to class one minute and then grabbing some exquisite Asian cuisine for lunch the next minute. Thereโ€™s always something going on. Popular movies are frequently being shot downtown or you may run into some upper business people that could help you with your future career. The professors at this college are all reasonable and the students here are diverse and friendly. I would give Georgia State University a 10 out of 10!

  8. Mercer University4 Year Macon, GA Rating 3.64 out of 5 1,527 reviews#8 Best Colleges for Communications in GeorgiaFreshman: The online experience is second to none, and it is full of integrated scopes and practicalities. I particularly enjoy the easily navigated built up of the highlited inscriptions on their webpages. Moreover, students are allowed to have numerous one-on-one encounters with one another. Which is highly commendable. Even when lectures are over, the management of the school has ensured that all questions directed to the authorities concerned are replied as at when due, for smooth transitions of learning and academic growth. Due to all these new measures, I have made so much friends already, even though I we are yet to start the on-campus studies. I so much likke life at mercer university, especially the modus operandi of the laid down rules. It brings to mind the right way to approach a difficult situation. Especially for students who are shy and hardly reaching out for answers. They are always carried along.

There are amazing professors, insightful and caring staff/administration, and a multitude of scholarships specific to the school. 95% of students receive financial aid and/or scholarships! I wish Young Harris’s diversity was stronger; however, there is a vibrant campus culture in which anyone can find groups that share their interests, hobbies, beliefs, and skill sets! Students know nearly all of the faculty and staff by name (and visa-versa)!

  10. Kennesaw State University4 Year Kennesaw, GA Rating 3.7 out of 5 4,644 reviewsGraduate Student: I enjoyed Kennesaw State University due to its diversity of students. You are immersed in a cultural environment that allows you to gain new knowledge of various people. Also, they offered helpful and exciting programs within The College of Science and Mathematics, to open my self to better academic/occupational opportunities. I truly appreciated my experience there, I truly grew and enjoyed my college life.

However, the only grievance I have with them were most to all the school fees. From tuition to housing, everything was just expensive with them. The application fees were unnecessarily high. I just wish they could have went easy on the cost of attending and living. Thank God for the scholarships I earned, they aided my financial experience. Other than that, I enjoyed my time at KSU!

The culture on campus is warm and inviting, and their diversity programs are phenomenal. The teachers and staff at this university make it their mission to ensure that your matriculation to the school is an enjoyable one. At Georgia Southern, you create long-lasting connections with peers that are considered more your family than your friends. Everyone at this great institution cares for your safety and well-being. 12. Clark Atlanta University4 Year Atlanta, GA Rating 3.48 out of 5 1,973 reviewsSophomore: Clark Atlanta University is an AMAZING institution. I am currently a rising junior and I can honestly say there is never a dull moment. At Clark Atlanta we turn up together as a family, and get our work done. I have a 3.8 GPA, and have already participated in multiple internship and research opportunities. I will say though, definitely MAKE SURE THAT YOU CAN AFFORD 4 YEARS AT CAU BEFORE ENROLLING AS A FRESHMAN. It is a very expensive price tag, and I will say that it can be frustrating when your trying to have fun but you do not have enough money to make it through the semester(s). However, if you work really hard in high school and get a solid GPA (3.25-4.0+) and make a solid SAT score (1,100+) you’ll probably qualify for a merit scholarship. The main reason I was able to afford CAU was because of a Full Tuition Scholarship (My GPA was 3.7 & SAT 1200). All in all, CAU is AMAZING but choose a school that is AMAZING and affordable, and if thats CAU, well….SEE YOU SOON FELLOW PANTHER!

  13. Emmanuel College – Georgia4 Year Franklin Springs, GA Rating 3.4 out of 5 188 reviewsFreshman: The best part of Emmanuel College is definitely the professors. As class sizes are smaller, you get the feeling that each professor knows you on a personal level, and they all have the goal of helping you succeed. I’ve had professors that act more like friends than mentors to me, and it goes a long way in making my experience satisfactory. Each professor I’ve had is easy to contact and will help you with any problem you have. Moving on, I do not live on campus, but having been inside of the dormitories, there is a lot to be desired. The conditions of the showering areas and restrooms seems to always be very unclean, with clogged toilets and horrible smells. In addition, the rooms themselves are so small that the two beds inside of them have to be position so that on is horizontal and the other is vertical along the walls, such that they fit. This makes living conditions between two students cramped, and I would not recommend it to those who do not like small spaces.

  14. Toccoa Falls College4 Year Toccoa Falls, GA Rating 3.73 out of 5 308 reviewsNiche User: Toccoa Falls College is such an amazing school. It is known for the on-site waterfall that is beautiful and an easy walk to. The campus is incredibly serene, small, and a great place to hang out, play games, study, etc. The people and staff at TFC are friendly and are eager to get to know you personally. The staff are known to have invited students to their homes for dinner with their family occasionally and are always open to meet with the student according to the students’ schedule when they are in need of further explanation on an assignment or even just to answer some thought-provoking questions they may have. There are not many things that the college needs to change, but could have some updates for the dorm rooms and some things around the campus such as the roads and sidewalks. Other than those minor fixes Toccoa Falls College is a great place to go!

  15. Valdosta State University4 Year Valdosta, GA Rating 3.62 out of 5 1,970 reviewsSophomore: My experience at Valdosta State University has been amazing. My only complaint is how they handle a crisis. They can be unorganized and only release small amounts of information to students at a time. Besides that, it’s probably been one of my best decisions. I love how the campus is small but not too small, you run into friends here and there but it’s not high school all over again. The campus is also beautiful, it reminds me a little bit of a historic area. There are also plenty of ways to get involved on campus and find your college friends. For me coming from a big city, it was an adjustment to the small-town feel but its not terrible living here. You still have all the main restaurants plus some local ones that are amazing! Overall I’m very happy I chose this school, its become my second home.

  18. Shorter University4 Year Rome, GA Rating 3.52 out of 5 489 reviewsSenior: Shorter University is a very great school for anyone who wants to learn! The school is located in Rome, Ga, which is a small town in the north western part of Georgia. The school is a Christian based school and does not allow any parties on campus, which is great because you can focus on your education more! The sports teams arenโ€™t really all that great but the Hawks spirit is felt through the campus! The school has newer building and some building a that have been there since the school was first built, which is pretty cool! 19. Wesleyan College4 Year Macon, GA Rating 3.67 out of 5 466 reviewsFreshman: Wonderful atmosphere on campus and in classrooms. Professors and classes are fantastic. Classmates and the highly praised “sisterly love” is touch and go. I met some very lovely people here, but definitely not all. While the education portion is enjoyable and taught by well experienced professors the college management is very poor and they are often not on connecting or comprehensible terms. The campus community is often bustling and very social. I reccomend dorm living over off campus as due to the campus size you might feel “cut off” from the social aspects. The campus itself is quaint and older with some historical portions. The dorms and amenities definitely need some re-vamp but overall very cozy dorm life.

  21. Middle Georgia State University4 Year Macon, GA Rating 3.75 out of 5 501 reviewsSophomore: MGA is a school of many campuses and I had the pleasure of living on the Cochran campus while commuting to the Eastman campus. Both are quiet little towns with not much to do, which is a great thing if youโ€™re like me and prefer to focus entirely on college. Just because there is nothing to do outside campus, doesnโ€™t mean youโ€™ll have no social life. MGA has an amazing group of students who always host something fun to do like mini golf nights or silent discos. Another wonderful thing about MGA is how willing the professors are to help out any and all of their students. There are tutoring groups, study nights, and all sorts of ways to help you academically succeed. My first year of being here was a roller coaster. It was going so well in the first semester until we had to leave in the middle of the second semester due to Covid-19. Luckily MGA acted quickly and students were placed online. Middle Georgia State University cares about their students, and itโ€™s pretty self evident.

Having a demanding career as an Operating Room nurse didn’t allow much time for getting an advanced degree. However, Columbus State University made it easier by offering part time, instead of only full time courses. The professors are always readily available by email and even via phone. Although I am considered an online student, I have had the privilege to visit the campus (which might I add is by the river)and it is breath taking! 23. Augusta University4 Year Augusta, GA Rating 3.6 out of 5 870 reviewsSenior: I’m very happy that I chose to come to Augusta rather than any other school. It has prepared me to become the professional that I hope to soon be. The school is very advanced, particularly in the sciences. The courses are rigorous and always based on the latest information. I never felt that I was “behind” other schools, like I did while doing dual enrollment at a different college during high school.
However, some recommendations I would have for the school would be to become more well-rounded with emphasis on the arts, sport, and humanities. The courses are also extremely rigorous. The school stresses being the best and the harshest – which can be hard at times. Also – the area and social activities are somewhat lacking compared to other schools, from everything I’ve seen. It’s possible to have these things and enjoy them – but it’s a make-the-most-of-what-you-have type of situation.

  25. Clayton State University4 Year Morrow, GA Rating 3.59 out of 5 1,172 reviewsNiche User: I love this school! Its campus is very beautiful and peaceful. Classes are medium sized, depending on the course. Some courses may have ten students, while others may have around 30 students. I have been in both. Smaller classes are brilliant because it gives the student the opportunity to speak to the teacher one-on-one. Also, teachers’ office hours are very flexible, so you can speak to them on your own time. Clayton State University has multiple buildings that are very decent. They have an Arts & Sciences building; a laboratory building; a College of Business; and another building, James Baker University. It’s easy to speak with your advisor on your courses needed for graduation as well. The courses are also not very expensive compared to other universities. Iโ€™m not as seasoned as an upperclassman, however so far, PCAD has been excellent! It may lack dorms and a dining area, however there are other options! I commute, however my pals have had a ton of support and help with finding places to rent! Thereโ€™s a public parking garage behind the school that students can get discounted parking passes for! With a new president as of Fall 2018 and the recent addition of a provost, PCAD has been rapidly growing, evolving, and improving! They have been extremely receptive to student concerns. The school atmosphere is extremely close knit. The faculty truly care for the students and take the time to get to know everyone and they always offer support. One professor and his wife opened an art shop across the street (both PCAD grads, too!) and they always stock it with supplies needed for projects, which saves tons of stress and time! I highly recommend checking the school out and asking questions!
