According to US News & World Report’s Best Graduate Schools rankings, these are the best pre-law programs in Florida. We don’t have a breakdown of what makes these the top programs in the state, but we can see that some of them have very good bar passage rates and job placement numbers.

Florida A&M University College of Law

FAMU College of Law is the only public HBCU law school in Florida. The college offers a J.D. program, which takes three years to complete and culminates in a bar exam. The college also offers an LLM program for advanced legal study, as well as several dual-degree programs for students interested in earning both their bachelor’s and Juris Doctor degree at the same time.

FAMU College of Law has consistently been ranked among the top schools in Florida by US News & World Report; it is currently #3 on this list, behind only Florida State University (#1) and Stetson University (#2).

Stetson University College of Law

Stetson University College of Law is a private, non-profit law school located in Gulfport, Florida. Stetson University College of Law was founded in 1900. Stetson University College of Law is the oldest law school in the state of Florida.

The school offers both full-time and part-time programs, with tuition ranging from $29,000 to $43,000 per year for full-time students and from $20,000 to $40,000 for part-time students as of 2018โ€“2019 academic year..

Florida International University College of Law

Florida International University College of Law (FIU) is a public research university in Greater Miami, Florida, United States. FIU has two major campuses in Miami-Dade County, with its main campus in University Park. Founded in 1965, FIU is the seventh-largest university campus by enrollment in the United States. The university offers 191 programs of study with more than 280 majors to nearly 54,000 students; it has an annual budget of over $1 billion.[citation needed]

Barry University School of Law

Barry University School of Law is a law school in the United States. It is located in Orlando, Florida and was founded in 1970. The law school is accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA).

St. Thomas University School of Law

Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law

Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law is a private, nonprofit institution that was founded in 1971. The school is located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and is accredited by the American Bar Association.

The associate dean of academic affairs at Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law declined to comment on this story due to a lack of student representation on campus.

Ave Maria School of Law

  • Ave Maria School of Law is a private, Roman Catholic, and independent law school located in Ave Maria, Florida. The school is named after the nearby city of Ave Maria; its campus is located on that city’s former Barron Collier Company land.
  • In September 2002, 23 students were enrolled in the law school’s first class which was taught by eight full-time professors with an additional five part-time faculty members.
  • The September 2015 Bar passage rate was 77%.

Florida Coastal School of Law

Florida Coastal School of Law is a private, nonprofit institution founded in 2004. The school is located in Jacksonville, Florida and is affiliated with the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida.

The school has a selective admission process which requires applicants to have strong academic credentials with at least a 3.5 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale. Applicants must also take either the LSAT or GRE and submit it to Florida Coastal School of Law by their application deadline date.

Dwayne O. Andreas School Of Law (Barry)

Barry University School of Law is located in Orlando, Florida and is a private institution. The law school is a part of the Barry University, which was founded in 1940.

Conclusion

Florida is home to a number of law schools that offer pre-law programs. These programs help students prepare for their future careers as lawyers by giving them an overview of the legal system and its history, as well as providing information on how to apply to law school (which can be quite difficult). Florida Institute of Technology offers 1 Pre-Law Studies degree programs. It’s a medium sized, private not-for-profit, four-year university in a small city. In 2019, 2 Pre-Law Studies students graduated with students earning 2 Bachelor’s degrees.

At the University of South Florida, the Pre Law Track is open to students of all majors who plan to attend law school. Students are admitted to law school from almost every academic discipline. You may choose to major in subjects that are considered to be in traditional preparation for law school, such as history, English, philosophy, political science, economics or business. However, you can also focus your undergraduate studies in areas as diverse as art, music, science and mathematics, computer science, engineering, nursing or education. Whichever major you choose, you are encouraged to pursue an area of study that interests and challenges you, while taking advantage of opportunities to develop your research and writing skills.

The Pre Law Track is neither a major nor a minor, nor a certificate program but a list of recommended law related courses to take alongside your major coursework. These courses are intended to provide students with a background in the skills and context useful in preparation for entering law school. All students are encouraged to begin preparations for entrance to law school early in their college career and to confer regularly with the Pre-Law Track Advisor.
