The Carleton University Electrical Engineering Faculty was formed in September 2015 to provide an undergraduate program in electrical engineering that would take advantage of the expertise of both the School of Computer Science and the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Carleton University. The new faculty was formed after consultation with the faculties’ respective councils, who agreed on an initial plan for how the faculty might function together. The first dean of this new faculty is Dr. John Kolb (Dean Emeritus).
The university will require students entering their 4th year to have completed 24 credits, including 6 credits in mathematics; 6 credits in physics; 12 credits in courses from one or more areas related to computer science or electrical engineering; 3 electives chosen from any area related to computer science or electrical engineering; and 2 complementary electives chosen from any area related to computer science or electrical engineering.
