Carnegie Mellon’s Computer Science program is one of the best in the world. Master of Science in Robotics (MSR) – How To Apply

Application Questions

Most application questions (deadlines, document submission, TOEFL/GRE score questions, etc.) will be answered by visiting the SCS – Master’s Admission Overview page.

The MSR program application is available via School of Computer Science’s graduate application portal. The application opens in September and closes mid-December for the upcoming fall incoming class.

We do not accept updates to applications after the application deadline (this includes scores, transcripts, cv’s, letters of recommendation, etc).

The MSR program does not offer spring or summer admissions nor do we make conditional acceptance offers.

Only those applications received with the fee will be processed. Applications received without the fee will not be considered complete and will not be processed. Problems with application fee payments and request for fee waivers must be handled by ApplyGrad directly.

Submission of GRE scores is a required component of the application for the MS in Robotics. It is advised to submit all required application components by the deadline to make yourself the most competitive.

We do not provide individual application completion, review or feedback. Robotics Institute Admission decisions are generally provided by the end of February.

Prerequisites

It is each applicant’s personal responsibility to arrive with, or to acquire rapidly thereafter, basic understanding (at the level of an introductory undergraduate course) in the following areas:

• Mathematics: calculus, linear algebra, numerical analysis, probability and statistics
• Computer Science: programming, data structures, algorithms
• Physics and Engineering: mechanics, dynamics, electricity and magnetism, optics
