The University Of The Witwatersrand Courses was the first institution outside the UK to gain recognition from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. We established our medical school in November 1943.

Founded in 1922, University of the Witwatersrand is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the urban setting of the metropolis of Johannesburg (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants), Gauteng.
