Wor Wic Community College Motorcycle Safety Course

Last Updated on August 8, 2022 by Team College Learners

The Wor-Wic Community College Motorcycle Safety Course consists of two knowledge and skills events. The Basic Rider Course is designed for beginner riders, or those that have been riding less than 1 year. Emphasis is on safe and responsible operation of the motorcycle. Students must successfully complete the course to receive a completion card, which may reduce liability insurance rates. Successful completion also allows student to complete the Maryland MVA waiver and obtain a motorcycle license without completing a MVA road test. The Experienced Rider Course is available for experienced motorcyclists. The course utilizes an online module and skill tests. The online module must be completed before attending the course, approximately 6 hours of work (instructions are provided upon registration).

The Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) Basic RiderCourse (BRC) offers beginning riders the basics needed to operate a motorcycle safely. This is a 15 hour course consisting of two hours in the classroom and 13 hours on an outdoor range. The class is limited to 15 students who will practice starting, stopping, turning and shifting.
