International Pathways Scholarships January 2022
You could enjoy a £3,000 reduction in tuition fees.
Our high-quality foundation, international year one and pre-masters courses are for international students who do not meet the requirements for direct entry to their preferred Coventry University undergraduate or postgraduate course. We can support you to achieve the academic and/or English grades you need and help you gain the personal and professional skills required to study at university.
We want to encourage ambitious international students like you to study at Coventry University, so we’ve secured extra financial support for you worth £3,000, to help with the cost of tuition fees, living expenses and accommodation.

International Academic Excellence Award January 2022
You could enjoy a £2,000 reduction in tuition fees.
We are proud to offer an International Academic Excellence Award to students who show exceptional academic achievement. We intend to award £2,000 to selected successful applicants for this scholarship who enrol in the January 2022 intake at Coventry University in Coventry, Coventry University London, CU Coventry or CU Scarborough.

EU Member State Transition Bursary
Our EU Transition Bursary offers financial support to our European students wishing to study with us full-time in the academic year 2021/22. If you normally reside in the EU and are starting your undergraduate or postgraduate taught course in September 2021, January 2022 or May 2022, you could be eligible for this reduction in your tuition fees.
The value of the bursary brings your tuition fees in line with that of UK students and will be automatically applied for all eligible EU students.

Red List Accommodation Credit January 2022
You could receive a £2,285 credit with FutureLets for the academic year.
The Red List Accommodation Credit for January 2022 is available to students from selected countries and territories who are studying an undergraduate or postgraduate course with us from January 2022.
We know that the COVID-19 pandemic has meant additional costs for students arriving from certain territories into the UK, so we’re offsetting these with extra help for the first year of accommodation, with a £2,285 credit for qualifying students.

Churches Together Hardship Fund
The CTBI Hardship Fund was set up in 1990 by the former Churches Commission for International Students who are facing unexpected financial problems during the final stages of their course. Grants are typically up to £1,000 and are administered based on the basis of an agreed criteria.
Decisions on grants are made three times a year.
- If you are finishing in April-June, you need to apply by mid-December
- If you are finishing in August-November, you need to apply by mid-April
- If you are finishing in December-March, you need to apply by October

Flying Start International Travel Grant
This funding is available for 1st, 2nd and 3rd year undergraduate students entitled to a full maintenance loan and undertaking international travel during their course of study.

#JoinYourAIFuture Data Science Scholarships
The MSc Data Science conversion course at Coventry University is part of the #JoinYourAIFuture programme, funded by the Office for Students. #JoinYourAIFuture is a national recruitment campaign to help address the shortage of AI and data specialists in the UK. An important aim of the campaign is to increase the number of people from underrepresented groups in the AI and data science fields, and to encourage graduates from diverse backgrounds to consider a future in these occupations.
The Office for Students has made 1,000 scholarships available across a number of Universities to help achieve this aim and applicants to this course at Coventry University may apply for a scholarship of £10,000, to be paid in instalments to assist students with the financial aspects of studying this degree.

Coventry University Sports Scholarships (limited)
Our outstanding Sports Scholarship programme consists of two levels and offers either £1,500 or £3,000 in a mixture of a cash bursary and support services per academic year. Sports Scholarships are awarded competitively to approximately 40-45 students each year who have the sporting ability to represent the University at a high level. To be considered for one of these scholarships you must be competing in a sport which is part of the BUCS Sport, Olympic Sports or Paralympic Sports programmes.

The Academic Merit Scholarship (unlimited) worth £1,500 – year one of study only
At Coventry University we like to recognise those students who are already performing well when it comes to their education. The Coventry University Academic Merit Scholarship scheme is our chance to reward hard work and encourage those who have the potential to be an excellent undergraduate student.
The Academic Merit Scholarship recognises high academic achievement and is available to students who achieve a certain level of A-Level or equivalent qualifications.
Coventry University’s Academic Merit scholarship is worth £1,500. It is assessed based on academic achievement and available to students who achieve 160 UCAS points or more.
The basic criteria will be:
- Starting the first year of an undergraduate course in academic year 2021/22 at Coventry University campus or Coventry University London **
- Achieve at least 160 UCAS points or above*
*Points will be calculated using the UCAS Tariff Points calculator.
**Not applicable to those studying at our CU Coventry, London or Scarborough or with Coventry University Online or Coventry University Wroclaw.
Certain exclusions will apply to this scholarship:
You will not be eligible to apply for a Coventry University Merit Scholarship if you are a:
- Student on a Foundation Degree or Foundation Art and Design course
- Student on an undergraduate foundation year (year zero)
- Student studying on a franchised or validated Coventry University course at another institution (e.g. Coventry University College)
- An overseas student – Please see the ‘International students’ scholarships webpage.
- Student who is not charged the maximum tuition fee
- Student already holding a degree qualification
How do I apply?
There will be no requirement to submit an application form as students will be identified automatically by the University and contacted after enrolment to confirm awards. Further details will be available on the website nearer to the time.
How will I be paid?
If eligible, a cash payment will usually be made in one instalment in the second term of your first academic year. Part-time students will be paid on a pro rata basis.
Care leavers accommodation scheme (limited)
Coventry University is offering a Care leavers Accommodation Support Scheme for new entrants from September 2021/22 academic year. We have made available a limited number of fully-funded University-owned accommodations for Care leavers who will be studying the entirety of their undergraduate course at the main Coventry University campus, on a full-time basis.
The Scheme will be allocated on a ‘first come, first serve’ basis, subject to meeting particular eligibility criteria. For further information on the scheme you can email Student Support Services welfare.ss@coventry.ac.uk
Santander bursaries for care leavers
This bursary provides automatic enrolment onto the Coventry University Global Leaders Programme (registration fee normally £300) and financial support designed to enable students to undertake the international trips offered through the programme.
To be eligible you must live in the UK, be under 25 years old, and have been in UK Local Authority care for at least 13 weeks since the age of 14. More information about the bursary and how to apply will be available in January 2022.

All of these scholarships are funded by external organisations mainly charitable trusts which have their own sets of eligibility criteria.
Bursaries and scholarships will open on Monday 06 September 2021 and close on Friday 01 October 2021.
Barry Gidden Fund
This scholarship is for all (UK and international) postgraduate research students in HLS who are researching technology-based solutions to health problems. All students – UK/EU and international are eligible to apply.
