2021 Rankings: The Best Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) Programs in Ohio

For our 2021 rankings of LPN programs, the research team at Nursing Schools Almanac compiled an extensive database of student performance on the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN). Aspiring practical nurses in the United States must pass this examination before they may commence practice. Thus, student performance on the NCLEX-PN exam provides an excellent benchmark for comparing the relative quality of practical nursing programs.

We used our database to calculate each program’s NCLEX-PN pass rate among first-time test-takers. This is the standard program assessment metric reported by the Ohio Board of Nursing and the test’s administrator, Pearson Vue. Whenever possible, we calculated this first-time NCLEX-PN pass rate over an extensive period of time, typically the past decade of student performance. We then used this metric to rank all of Ohio’s LPN programs accordingly.

With technologically advanced programs & equipment, CVCC provides a strong technical foundation for today’s employers. Each year, CVCC students earn state & national skill recognition & provide valuable community resources. An important educational resource for adults & groups from small local businesses to large corporations, CVCC begins career education & exposure in kindergarten.

CVCC serves more than 25,000 students K-12 through its Career Development program & nearly 3,000 adults annually from 25 different communities who seek career training. Currently, CVCC provides education for approximately 1,000 high school students with 30 career-technical programs & offers adults & area employers year-round options for daytime, evening & weekend classes.

The Adult Education Department provides ongoing registration with new classes starting monthly. Affordable, customized business training is available on-site or at CVCC for skill upgrades or career changes. Recent college articulation agreements allow students to earn college credit for some CVCC courses & free parking is always available. Also, the School of Nursing at CVCC offers both full & part-time programs.

Additionally, CVCC is equipped with quality conference & business meeting facilities. Amenities include: large & small meeting rooms, computer training labs, high-speed internet connections, remote video conferencing, business & audio-visual equipment, as well as on-site food service options.
