You do not have to know what you want to major in to join a learning community. Learning communities are offered in a wide variety of themes and interests and include courses that meet general education requirements.

All entering freshmen are enrolled in a learning community when they register for classes. When you visit the Advising Center, you and your advisor will decide which learning community is best for you. You must register for all the courses offered in the community.

Admission to the graduate school does not ensure you admission to a particular graduate program, it only assures consideration by the program. Admission Standards

Graduates of a regionally accredited college or university, or whose institution is recognized by the Commission on Recognition of Post-Secondary Accreditation (CORPA) may apply for admission to the Graduate School. The University reserves the right to select individuals for admission on the basis of merit to promote the best interests of the University and the society as a whole, and maximizing the potential for individual achievement.

Graduate School Application Process

To receive consideration for admission to the Graduate School, we encourage you to study the admission policies and procedures and supply everything required for the application in a timely manner. The submission of a complete application not only expedites the admission process, but ensures your graduate study will begin without delay.

Step 1: Graduate School Application

All persons (including graduates of Eastern New Mexico University) seeking admission to the Graduate School are required to submit a formal application for admission. You can apply to the graduate school online.

Graduate School Application

Step 2: Transcripts

You must request an official transcript from each institution you previously attended be forwarded directly to the Graduate School. Transcripts in the student’s possession will not be accepted.

ENMU Transcript Processes

Step 3: Program Specific Application Requirements

If you qualify for admission to the Graduate School, the Graduate School will forward your file to the graduate coordinator in the program for evaluation. Because admission into a particular program depends on special program requirements, additional information about you and your academic background may be required by the program’s graduate coordinator. Such information may include, but is not limited to:

  • Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores
  • Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) scores
  • Writing proficiency exam
  • Qualifying or field exams
  • Letters of recommendation

As previously stated, different graduate programs have specific admission standards and program requirements which you must satisfy. Admission to the Graduate School does not entitle you admission to a graduate program; it only ensures consideration by the program. (See individual graduate program descriptions for specific requirements.)

You can also find more information about a program’s application requirements by visiting the program’s page. https://enmu.forms-db.com/embed.php?id=87383

Admission Notification

After your admission materials are evaluated, you will receive a letter letting you know whether or not you were admitted. This Admission Letter is the only communication you’ll receive concerning your application status. It will provide your student standing and will let you know if there are any conditions, limitations or restrictions from your program or the Graduate School. This letter also provides the date you can enroll.

Timely Completion of the Admission Process

Normally, you are admitted only after all application materials have been received in the Office of the Graduate School. Students are typically unable to register until the application is complete and an admission decision is made.

If you do not complete the application process within your first semester of enrollment, or if your undergraduate degree is from an unaccredited institution, you will not be able to enroll for graduate coursework at ENMU.
