California Institute of Technology (Caltech) is a private research university in Pasadena, California, the United States. It first began as a vocational school in 1891 but switched to a degree-offering university in 1910. Caltech has a small student population of 2,333 students, according to Wikipedia, and is one of the small groups of universities in the United States primarily devoted to pure and applied sciences.
