Most of the schools denabd examen atriumย ย / university admission certification as an admission requirement. In most cases you will also need to perform different types of auditions. However be aware that most of the schools also offer the possibility of enrollment based on relevant practical experience / age related admission (realkompetanse), if you lack university admission certification.
How Many Years Is A Film School?
Universities offer courses ranging from 1 to 4 years, with the majority lasting 3 or 4 years. Conversely, films schools focus on shorter technical courses of 1 or 2 years.

Prerequisites For Online Film Programs
Online programs typically follow the same requirements as on-campus programs. Getting into an online film program can vary based on the program type and level. However, many programs, regardless of their discipline or level, require transcripts, letters of recommendation, a CV or resume, and a personal essay.
Online Film Certificate and Associate’s Degree Programs
It can depend on the school, but some online film programs at the certificate and associate’s levels have open enrollment policies and generally do not have any prerequisites. Usually, to participate in a certificate program, an individual must be an undergraduate student at that school, but some online schools will let undergraduate students from other schools enroll.
An associate degree program can require students to participate in placement testing in addition to requiring a high school diploma or equivalent.

Typical Courses In An Online Film Program
Each type of film program (screenwriting, film study, and production/filmmaking) will have courses tailored towards that concentration. However, many programs have courses from all 3 concentrations available, either through electives or as part of the core requirements.
Screenwriting Courses
Screenwriting courses typically focus on the structure, formatting, and storytelling techniques used in film and television writing. Many screenwriting programs have workshops where students are given time to hone their craft and receive feedback.

Production/Filmmaking Courses

Depending on the program, these courses may have multiple parts or entire courses dedicated to one aspect, such as sound design. Den Norske Filmskolen
The national, public Norwegian film school in Lillehammer offers both bachelor and master education in filmmaking. This is one of the most prestigious film educations in Norway. The school maintains a strong and dynamic relationship with the professional film industry in Norway and beyond, and they offer seven different directions within TV and film. Many of their students have reached international recognition, and many new Norwegian films have been made by teams that have met and worked together during their time at the film school in Lillehammer.

TV- fag v/hรธgskolen i Lillehammer
At Hรธgskolen i Lillehammer you can get a bachelor in documentary film production, with emphasis on photography and directing. They have a low number of students enrolled each year, to be able to follow up their students with some of the best qualified teachers in the country.
Application through Samordna Opptak (SO), but with a specific application procedure.

Nordland kunst โ og filmfagskole
Located in beautiful Kabelvรฅg in Norland, this is the only public film school that is offering a two year education in film and media, in Norway. They have a focus on giving their students a broad set of skills, and their goal is to offer participants insight in the diversity of the visuel arts.
Many students at Nordlands kuns โog filmskole later apply at the Norwegian film school, and statistics shows that many are granted admission there.

Hรธgskolen i Volda
Hรธgskolen i Volda offer the only animation film education in Norway, a three-year education. The education started by Gunnar Strรธm, has become recognized outside of the Norwegian borders, and most of the people working professionally with animation in Norway today has a background form this school. Hรธgskolen also offers a study in journalism with specialization in documentary film.

Westerdals Oslo ACT Film and TV
At Westedals you can study for a film and TV bachelor, within production, clipping, TV-shows and fiction. Westerdals focus on giving dynamic insights between arts and the market, giving an education close to the industry players as well as offering the possibility to find you own voice as a movie maker. Films made by students from Westerdals have won international prices, and students have often showcased their work internationally.

Film & TV produksjon, Universitetet i Bergen
At UIB they offer their students both practical and theoretical knowledge within film and TV production. You will get a theoretical fundament for understanding the development of media and the theoretical knowledge about the viewers in relation to different audiovisual forms. You will also be schooled in practical knowledge, within photo, directing or editing.

Filmproduksjon and 3D filmproduction, Noroff
Noroff offers two years (also offerering 1 year detatched) in film and TV production. The first yeat will offer a foundation and understanding of all main specialist processes, where students get to try everything from directing, producing, photography and clipping. The second year students will choose one of the specialist functions as specialization.
Noroff also offers 3D film production, where the students will work with all phases from idea to finished film at a 2 year program.
