Visa Application Process

International aspirants looking to enroll in a course 6 months duration or longer require a study permit and visa to study in Canada. Since the entire process can take up to 4 to 8 weeks, they should be applied for at the earliest post receiving an offer of a place at the nearest Canadian Embassy.

Legal residents of nations including China, India, Morocco, Pakistan, and others also have the option of applying via Student Direct Stream (SDS) for processing their permit faster. But SDS is only available on meeting certain specifications and candidates failing to meet them must consider applying through the regular process, either online or at a Visa Application Centre. The application fee for applying for a permit to study in Canada is 113 USD.

To qualify for SDS, the following documents must be submitted.

  1. Copy of acceptance letter, medical exam, and qualifying language test score.
  2. Proof of first-year paid tuition fee.
  3. Proof of Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC) for 7,500 USD.

Graduate Admissions

Admission Portal: Apply online at the official website.

Admission Process

The application process for graduate courses of the college is similar to that of the undergraduate programs. Just choose the program you are interested in, check its availability and corresponding specifications, and apply at the official website by completing an online form.

However, international candidates applying to graduate-level admissions must fulfill some program-specific requirements which are tabulated as follows:

Aspirants must note that since the applications received at the college for admission are in high volume, releasing final decisions along with an offer of a place can take time. Usually the entire process can last up to 4 or more weeks. Meanwhile, candidates are encouraged to keep a close track of their application status using their Stu-View accounts.

After you upload the transcripts and other mandatory documents, it can take around 2 weeks to reach the institute, and thus there is no need to panic if no change in application status is observed during this stage.

Since there is not enough capacity to admit all applicants meeting minimum general and program-specific requirements, submission of an application is thus, not a guarantee of an offer of a place, and candidates are therefore advised to apply as soon as they have made up their minds.

Conclusion

George Brown College has a high acceptance rate and is one of the best institutions for students who want to pursue a career in the health sciences. The college’s wide variety of programs, as well as its low tuition fees, make it an ideal choice for individuals who want to take advantage of their education without going into debt.
