When you consider applying to graduate school, it’s natural to worry about the odds. After all, only the best and brightest are admitted. But we have good news for you: Graduate school acceptance rates can tell you how likely it is that your application will fit the bill. These rates give the percentage of applicants who have been admitted to a particular program in a given year, so they can help you determine how likely it is that you’ll be admitted to a program as well.
Sometimes programs vary widely in terms of their acceptance rates; others are relatively consistent from one year to the next. And in some fields, such as law and business, applicants often have multiple opportunities (within the same field) with different schoolsโso even if your chances aren’t great with one program, there may still be other options that would work well for you!
