Radiologic Technology BS
- Warrensburg
Career Preparation
Radiology is the branch of medicine that uses x-rays, magnetic fields, nuclear radiation, and ultrasound to visualize the human anatomy and function. As a radiologic technologist, you will be the member of the medical team that performs diagnostic imaging examinations and will be responsible for accurately positioning patients to ensure that a quality diagnostic image is produced. Through a combination of course work at UCM and then a two-year clinical program at an affiliated accredited radiologic program, you will earn a Bachelor of Science degree. Currently, UCM has affiliation agreements with Research Medical Center School of Radiologic Technology, Hillyard Technical Center, and Mercy Regional. The radiologic technology program clinical component is a full time, competency based program. The program does not provide accommodations for part time students. Students attend Monday through Friday, (40) hours per week, (8) hours per day. Academic and clinical instruction is based on 40 hours of required attendance. Completion of degree is contingent upon acceptance in and completion of an accredited radiologic clinical program.
