Pace University is ranked #2 for best undergraduate computer science programs, according to U.S. News & World Report’s annual rankings. This makes it one of the best universities for computer science majors, right? Well… not exactly.
What U.S. News & World Report doesn’t tell you is that Pace University only offers an undergraduate degree program in software engineering—not computer science or any other form of computer programming or software development. While this may be great if your goal is to become a software engineer (which is a noble calling), it’s not so hot if you want to go on to graduate school or get into a job where you’ll need more than just an undergraduate degree in software engineering.
The bottom line? Pace University may be good for computer science majors if they want to study software engineering and want an undergrad degree from a top-tier institution—but if you’re looking for more than just an undergrad degree then Pace might not be right for you!
