The history of Loughborough University can be traced back to the establishment of a small technical institute in 1909. Originally, Loughborough University of Technology provided education only in technical subjects like art and science. The university was given its current name in 1996. Currently, the university has 22 academic schools and departments, over 100 research groups, institutes and centers, and over 35 professional services, teams.
Located in the center of Loughborough, UK, the university campus covers an area of 440 acres. The campus has a world-class infrastructure and provides a plethora of facilities like huge lecture theatres, a well-stocked library, well-equipped laboratories, an extensive IT network, a conference center, excellent accommodation, and Loughborough Students’ Union. Home to around 17,800 students from 180 countries, Loughborough University is known for its academic excellence and research work. Loughborough University – School of Business and Economics
Established over 40 years ago, the Loughborough University School of Business and Economics is one of the top business schools in the UK and part of the one per cent of business schools in the world to hold AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA accreditation.
The school offers courses across bachelors, master’s and postgraduate level across disciplines of: accounting and finance; economics; human resource management and organisational behaviour; information management; international business; strategy and innovation; management science and operations and marketing and retailing.
With more than 400 global partnerships, the school offers salaried placements to undergraduate students and internships to MBA students.
Courses at bachelors level in business are: accounting and financial management; finance and management; information management and business; international business; management sciences; retailing, marketing and management. Loughborough university ranking economics
Loughborough University has retained its top five ranking in the 2020 Guardian University Guide, taking 4th place for the second year running.
The national league table, published today (Friday 7 June), ranks the country’s 121 universities by scoring each institution on a range of aspects of university life, including how satisfied students are with their course and what their chances are of getting a good job.
Speaking about Loughborough’s continued success in the league table, the University’s Vice-Chancellor Professor Robert Allison said: “It is incredibly rewarding to see that the hard work and dedication of the entire Loughborough family, who work tirelessly to ensure all our students get the very best out of their university years, has been recognised yet again.
