CAREER EXPECTATIONS
UFV’s program is approved by the College of Registered Nurses of B.C. Upon graduation you will be eligible to successfully write the registration examinations, which will allow you to practise as a registered nurse.
Recent health care reforms launched by the provincial government emphasize health promotion, disease prevention, and community-based health care. These changes mean new opportunities for today’s UFV nursing grads, who are recognized as major contributors to health care reform.
As a graduate, you are prepared to practice in hospitals or in the community — and at many different levels.
The First Nations Health Authority promotes opportunities for young, passionate, and educated B.C. First Nations and Aborignial youth. Check out their health careers guidebook for info about specific health careers.
ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS
View entrance requirements in the Academic Calendar
Given the competitive entry process, meeting the minimal entrance requirements may not lead to admission into the program. Typically, shortlisted applicants have a minimum of B+ in each of the required academic courses.
UPGRADING OPTIONS
Qualifying Studies
If you have been accepted to Qualifying Studies, you may wish to upgrade your qualifications and begin some academic courses through the Nursing track option.
